Hello friends, I am terribly sorry to bring you news of another short haitus.
As mentioned in my recent blog updates I had recently begun my application for the US Navy, and had been given a ship date for a few weeks out, however my ship date was moved forward as of last weekend. I'd hoped to get the Part two chapter out by today, but with the insanity of packing and prep, I was unable to do so, being so desperate as to try to finalize the chapter on my drive up from Orlando to Jacksonville. (I wasn't driving, it's all good)
My Basic Training will be for the next 8-10 weeks, and so I won't have any updates until then (God willing I do not get injured/sick while in Basic) and so I am extremely disappointed to say there wont be any chapters till June. Once I get to my A-School, I can continue putting out the final few chapters, but I am sorry to have to announce another brief delay.
I love you all for your continued patience with me, and I hope to be back as soon as possible with the final updates. Take care, and I'll see you all soon.

Have fun in the Navy, and don't make too many dumb decisions at your A-school! You're probably looking at late June-late July for the next update realistically so don't sweat too much.
Also, I do not recommend getting married in A-school or getting with a adult entertainer. I've seen it too many times (most didn't work out) XD
Hey your coming up to my neck of the woods. Well welcome to Jacksonville my friend, you’ll like it there

Always good advice, but I am a tea-totaling goodboy. That sort of trouble has never been my scene
Good luck, Sailor. Went Army myself... my advice still applies, though. Every task before you is perfectly achievable. It will not be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. Just keep your head up, be in the right place at the right time in the right uniform with the right attitude, and remember: the fastest way out of TRADOC (or the Navy's equivalent) is through.
You got this, man. Stay strong, and we'll catch you on the flipside.
PS: I recommend investing in some writing material... pens and spiral notebooks. The urge to write will still strike in Basic, and you'll have some free time right before lights out later in your cycle ;)
Good luck and God speed Sailor, and thank you for your service.
Have fun in Great Mistakes. Just remember... when you get out of boot, don't buy a flashy sportscar, and don't every marry a stripper for any reason! ;) Former EMN3 out.
'Ello There mate, I am a vet of the U.S. Navy of 5 years ( busted my back and had to leave early) but I can tell you that for boot camp, 3 things to keep in mind!
1) Never argue/ talk back/ mumble under your breath or vocalize while your R.D.C. or other instructor is reprimanding you unless ordered to vocalize an affirmation that you understand ( or that you do not understand).
2) Eating will be difficult as you will have only a short amount of time to eat, so if you eat slowly, try to speed it up and on the flip side using the latrine/ commode/ restroom/ head can also be difficult, do not take to long in using said facilities.
3) Sleep will be very difficult and there is not much that you can do about it!!! Be aware that you may only get 3-5 hours of restless sleep each night and to drink coffee at every meal! Jet black and with as much sugar as you can handle!
Hoorah Navy! If you don't mind my asking, what rate did you choose? Electronic Warfare Technician myself years and years ago, now I'm an old salty civilian 'A' school instructor. Best of luck to you in basic.
i'll be here waiting when next chapter is nice and ready. :D

Funny enough, that was one of the first tried to push me on, but despite the benefits and stuff it just wasn't my speed. I'm signed as a Yeoman, but working to qualify for CTI. I just took the test and got a 102, but they are only accepting 110s right now. Bummer, but at least I qualified for the tiers I wanted.
Credit to you though. Salty Civilian instructors are the best!

Much appreciated, my friend! I will keep these in mind, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your service. I did 6 1/2 years in the US Navy from Nov 1995 to July 2002 as a Mess Management Specialist/Culinary Specialist (both ratings translate as Cook in the civilian world).

Ah, I guess you mean they tried to push CTT on you. Had you taken that one, you would have ended up in the same building that I teach in, lol. Same rate as mine was essentially, since EW merged into CTT back in '03. Except EWs were far superior in all aspects. But it's CTM A school I teach now; a LOT less advanced than EW was (CTM = bottom-rung basic electronics/RF, EW = high-level advanced electronics/RF theory/operations/maintenance) but I'll suffer teaching what's basically "Electronics For Dummies" for GS-12 pay. And as many of my compatriots have said before, "'trons is 'trons" (translated "electrons are electrons").
Glad I never tried to binge read this but only a chapter every week or so. Well best of luck to ya!

I'll happily wait ... stay safe
Fair winds and following seas shipmate. Don’t let the RDCs mind games get to you and you’ll do fine.
