When Twilight realizes that she loves books, and not in the way you love your grandmother, she embarks on a quest to discover if her love is legally allowed. Along the way, Rainbow Dash and Applejack try—and fail—to talk her out of her madness. Trixie, upon hearing about Twilight's passion for books, hatches a plan to get the lovestruck mare to fall for her. Shenanigans and absurdity ensue.

After losing out on first chair cellist in the Manehattan Philharmonic Orchestra to her biggest rival, Octavia tries to console herself with a healthy bout of moping and a strong drink. One drink soon becomes several, though, and her evening of debauchery leads to a long night of frenzied, sordid passion with her best friend Vinyl Scratch. It isn't until she wakes up in the morning with Vinyl's legs wrapped around her that Octavia remembers two very important things: one, she's straight. It's been a week since Twilight became an alicorn and a princess. While walking around Ponyville, she meets each of her best friends, but they didn't act like usual. Twilight tries to figure out what is the reason behind it, she wasn't prepared for the answer she got. How did this happen? Which would be the best way to deal with this problem?

“Hey RD! Come pick me up at the ’Acres at seven. We’re goin’ on a date tonight.”

“What?!”

Applejack seems determined, Rainbow Dash tries to catch up.
