None of her four best friends can be her assistant, so she’s forced to take on Cheese Sandwich, a geeky accordion-playing new student, who is both very strange and very familiar. Cupcake exploits, explosions, aunts, obscure branches of magic, swing dancing, and other typical high school hijinks ensue.

When Cheese Sandwich returns looking for help, Pinkie discovers feelings she never knew she had. Now, she is torn between her desire to stay with Cheese and her friends. Just how will she deal with the situation?

[IMPORTANT NOTE]: This was my first story on fimfiction that I kept. It was written a long time ago, and as such is dated. Dated in writing quality, pacing, storytelling, characterization, and the list goes on. This no longer represents my current writing abilities in the least, but I have decided to keep it on the site for historic purposes and the fact that folks still enjoy reading it.

This is a slow-paced story delving into Pinkie and Cheese's life as they come to understand their love for each other and the changes it brings to their lives.

Please note that I started this story before the end of season 4. It is cannon up until about the middle of the season.

I absolutely adore Pinkie and Cheese together, and many other writers have published some great stories. I recommend The Rock Farmer's Daughter and anything by scoots2 (they're amazing). Anywho, I decided to write one of my own, but make it a larger scale, slower paced work than most Cheese-Pie stories. This was my big project, and I've expended a lot of effort making it work. I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions regarding improvement. A perfectionist is never satisfied.

The Princesses' birthday celebration is here again, and Mayor Mare needs a scapegoat—er, trusted citizen—to handle Ponyville's gift. Certainly, deciding what to get for an ancient ruler who's seen everything will be a piece of cake. Hm, cake. Maybe that's not such a bad idea.

This is Equestria. But something went differently this time. The Everfree is even more out of control, and has become a breeding ground and nesting place for thousands of dangerous creatures. With so many new threats constantly changing, evolving in the darkness, no one knows what the next monster could be capable of. In such a world, the Unknown means Danger.

Meet Pinkie Pie. She's an earth pony who likes parties and making everyone smile. She's very, very good at it.

That's a bad thing.

You see, some of the things she does are... strange. Unnatural. Sure, parties may be her special talent, but that doesn't explain where she got a cannon that can decorate a room. And it doesn't stop at parties. There's something unnatural about that mare. No one can explain it.

Pinkie Pie is an Unknown.

Unknowns are dangerous.

Princess Celestia has taken the poor pony under her wing, and raised her away from unfriendly eyes, allowing her to live what approaches a normal life. Soon, Pinkie will be reintroduced to the world at large, starting with a little town called Ponyville, on the day of the one-thousandth Summer Sun Celebration.

Life has been mostly the same for the girls ever since they had to give up their Elements to the Tree of Harmony. Of course, this couldn't possibly last too long, and strange things begin to happen to our intrepid heroes.
