Princess Twilight Sparkle wakes up to find herself in an alternate Equestria, where everypony is nice, nothing ever bad happens and everything is just 'perfect'.

Naturally the place bores her to death.

Spike the dog approaches Sunset Shimmer with an important question. A question she simply must find the answer to for the sake of Equestria's future.

Spike is growing up, a little bit at a time. It has its upsides. He can carry Rarity's luggage more easily, he gets to have a bigger bed, he doesn't fall asleep all the time, and, hey, wings are pretty cool, too!

Unfortunately, part of growing up is outgrowing things you used to take for granted. Alicorn Princess or not, Twilight's still a pony, and ponies weren't built with carrying adolescent dragons in mind.

Something random that popped into my head while rewatching some of this season's episodes. It could be read as something of a tie in to my previous story, "Seven Hour Bubblebath", but it can be read as a standalone story as well.

Takes place after the event of 'Rollercoaster of Friendship". So that means spoilers, though not much in the way of the plot.

While they were at the amusement park, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle played a simple game of ring toss. It went poorly. No matter what they did, they couldn't win. Sunset couldn't let such a defeat go unremedied and now she's on a mission to discover how to win the game. Unfortunately, that means no sleep and a steady deterioration of sanity.

Rated Teen for occasional mild language.

After straining for a while, it turns out that Rainbow Dash needs reading glasses, which sucks, because that's super uncool. But it's worth it to get to read the new Daring Do, and besides, it's not like she needs them all the time.

Reading with friends can be fun.

It turns out that Sunset Shimmer's final letters to Princess Celestia before her exile were not filled with resentment or remorse.

There might have been a lot more frantic running away involved.

But whatever the case, it was definitely not Sunset's fault.

Sunset Shimmer never really had a childhood or someone to teach her what she needs to know. So, after the fall formal, Sunset is faced with changes she is not yet ready for: friends and family who are willing to show her just what she's been missing. Will she accept accept this newfound solace or will her fears and insecurities get the better of her? Will she even have a choice?

Spike now harnesses the bloodstone scepter making him the ruler of all dragon kind. Of course he hands it off as part of an important lesson on friendship, right? Naw. He immediately goes mad with power.

Sunset is invited to a picnic in Equestria where she attempts to get to know the pony versions of her friends then is asked to open a can of creamed corn. Hilarity ensues… No wait… A trip to the ER ensues. That’s what I meant to say.
