Everypony has a story. Some tell of heroic feats and grand adventure. Others tell of villainy against the forces of Harmony. The story of an average guard, however, is one of obscurity. They live in the background, unnoticed but ever-present.

Silent Knight assumed his tale would be like that of his father's: join the Royal Guard and serve Equestria. He would be just another helmet and spear, part of the rank and file. And that was all he ever wanted.

However, when Captain Shining Armor asked for volunteers to form a House Guard for the recently returned Princess Luna, it was Silent's hooves that stepped forwards to set his new life in motion.

"Luna!" Celestia reeled in the air, dodging her sister's vicious lunge. "Please! Stop! It doesn't have to come to this! Call back your soldiers! Return to Canterlot! I will forgive you!"

"You cannot undo all you've done, Sister!" Luna cried, winging backwards to gain height on Celestia.

"You will never be a leader," the elder alicorn said sadly, feeling the need to weep. It saddened her further to realize she could not.

Luna snarled. "And you will never be a god!"

Torn asunder by dissent and mistrust, Equestria is divided between the Sisters. One promises equality in magic and caste. The other maintains her rule is stable and just.

The future hinges on a single battle.

And neither Sister wishes to cede the sky.

This story is a commissioned work for alfamaniac. It continues the relationship hinted at in "An Apple Doesn't Fall" and established in "Your Beautiful Mind."

She adores him. And he's over the moon for the Lunar Princess. But there are factors to their relationship that are keeping him up, and it has been one night too many that sleep has evaded Big Mac.

In another universe, Luna has been restored thanks to the Elements of Harmony. She wasn't alone, with her appeared a small 2-month-old royal purple alicorn filly. Nightmare Moon reborn as Luna's Daughter.

These are short stories taking place in that alternate universe. They are randomly written as I come up with the ideas. There is no order or pattern, some will be complex others just minor additions.

The Elements of Harmony aren’t weapons. This is a basic fact, they are an extension of the Tree of Harmony a being that thinks for itself. A weapon is a mindless tool of destruction, there is no Harmony in destruction. A thousand years ago the two Royal Sisters fought. Nightmare Moon was a problem the Tree, nor Celestia saw coming. So at that moment when Celestia used the elements the tree guided the power to act the only way it could think of at that moment. Give the Tree of Harmony time to come up with a solution. A plan was formed and the Elements rested to build up the magic needed to save Luna, and Nightmare Moon. A thousand years later the time came to set the plan in motion...

A new being appears in Equestria only one problem he wakes up in bed with Princess Luna, with no idea how he got there. How will everypony react to him? What will princess Celestia do to the first human to enter their world? Will he be banished when they find out his dark secret? Only time will tell.

Having learned much about Equestria from both Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer, the two principals from CHS have always been curious about what the world is really like. Luna finally proposes the idea that the two should find out themselves just what its like to be a pony...and not just any pony but royalty as well. What could possibly go wrong in this situation?

Twilight could probably name about thirty of them.

Luna has been Vice Principal of Canterlot High School for years, and she couldn't be happier. So she tells herself, and so she will keep telling herself, until she believes it.

However, after the Battle of the Bands, Luna finds a kindred spirit in the last place she would ever have thought to look.

And that kindred spirit isn't afraid to tell Luna what she really thinks.
