Warning: The following story you are about to read is currently unedited and contains some disturbing themes that may be too sensitive for readers. Viewer discretion is advised.

Editorial, a journalist for The Manehattan Times is tasked to go to one of the most haunted places in Equestria. In particular, to investigate a bridge that connects Ponyville to Appaloosa. Over the Gastly Gorge, when the moon is absent and the sky is dark, the location is known as "The Bridge of No Return" because those who dare to cross it end up disappearing. Even if there wasn't a paranormal reason for the disappearances, the reporter is determined to find the real reason why.

This is his findings.

Maybe I shouldn't have read this before going to bed...

Eh, could be worse...

Sometimes its best to leave well enough alone.

From the other side, Steamer was screaming as he saw the light of the other lantern fall straight down into the river below. He shrieked for him to use his magic to save himself. His yells of desperation echoed in the gorge.

As I know off, I rarely do the curse word with small exceptions, but this seems to be the appropriate time.

Holy Shit!

...Jesus Christ. Very haunting.

Nice. I like it.

You know, as a fellow person who listens to classical music sometimes, I can't help but think how perfectly rachmainoff's prelude in c sharp minor is for this story. I mean, if you know the story behind the piece that makes it even more eerie... but if (like me) you read this story fairly quickly, you'll hit the really creepy sffff part just as Editorial jumps off the bridge.

Is it bad that I want to know what happened?

And not use that brain of yours to not draw your own conclusions or think of other possibilities because facing something that's tangible is less frightening than confronting something unknowable?

Nah, that means you're human.

I have no problems drawing my own conclusions. I just want to know what happens next and if he ever survives or gets out. This story has potential to become something much bigger. Maybe even a series.

Loved the story :)

I'm surprised that he didn't decide to try to wait it out. He might have been too terrified at the moment to come up with it as a new idea, but surely he would've thought of a contingency measure like "wait until morning" during the planning process.

I’m getting some serious Buzzfeed Unsolved vibes from this fic. I gotta wonder- why the hay didn’t he just teleport himself out?

From the guy's perspective, it's to assume that first, he knows where exactly he's teleporting to. And second, would it make sense to teleport when you're on a bridge that seems to go in a loop. How would you know if don't end up falling off or back on the bridge again?

That, and let's face it, when you're genuinely scared, you're not exactly at your most rational state. After all, it's the way that our brains work - that emotion when pushed to its limits tends to be faster than logic or reason.
