Jason Wright is dead. The Elements and all of Ponyville are to blame for his abuse for three long horrendous years. Princess Celestia, upon hearing about this, lays down righteous judgement on each of them. This breaks their friendship and causes them to scatter to the winds while also destroying the reputation of Ponyville itself.
Two years later, a second human enters Equestria for a job. He and his new companions are a part of a mercenary team, not well known, but unique in their own way. Little does this human know that a simple job his team accepted in Equestria will lead him to becoming involved in something bigger.
EDIT: Changed setting to Teen, but may change it back if things get a bit too dark.

This is probably one of, if not the best karmic punishments/consequences against the Mane Six and Ponyville as a whole, coming from a "Jason Wright" story verse that I have ever seen.

Not to mention with the fact that you also remember and addressed other big criticisms with the likes of Spike, Zecora, a neglected Celestia not being fully innocent either, how other non-pony kingdoms will react, etc.....
Wonder how all of them will react with not only a second human, but this different version of Gregory being a futuristic mercenary?

Also nice to see where Maretime Bay has come from, and the reason for its ways.
On a side note, I hope this increased workload won't cause you too much trouble. Especially since Gregory is in two stories now. Be sure to take breaks if needed and not overstress yourself.

Never read the original Jason Wright story but im enjoying this MC and set up. Looking forward to the next chapter.
I’ll admit, it felt good seeing them get everything taken away. Even Twilight ending up in the nut house.
This is a really good story I'm excited and curious for the next chapter.
So far this is easily a number three or two of the best Jason wright continuations I've ever seen
But that might change as I have found out there's apparently more than eight.
While I am not always a fan of the ending or punishment stories in that universe, the continuations always perk my interest in the "will there be redemption or will the main 6 fail again" aspect. Part of that might be because I don't like to see characters I like taken down, or at least taken down so hard, but I am always interested in how they overcome or get out of the mess they made for themselves.

Its also pretty messed up the more one looks into it.
Especially with despite Spike was literally by Twilight's side all his life, 5 mares she only knew for a day instantly have a stronger bond with her than his bond with her while he's blocked from being part of that bond truly.
I loved the show but that right there is one of my major issues.

Basically in the original story, Discord is the one responsible for the Mane Six's rather OOC racism/xenophobic ways against Jason!!!!!
And his "reasons" for that is rather stupid, and I kind of forgot anyways, because this is literally the worst thing he's ever done.

A Celestia that is aware of other universes, a Discord that hadn't been involved AT ALL in Jason's treatment, and a force that is preventing Discord from interfering too much.

Just found this story and I'm instantly hooked. Discord not being involved at all in Jason's treatment is a nice change from all the other stories set in the Jason Wright universe.

This new chapter feels like a mix-bag to me.
Some ponies are still unwilling to admit that THEY were the cause of their problems, finding it easier to blame the Mane 6. They need a good wake up call.
As for this darkness that has infested the town.. It is ominous.
Lastly, Celestia really hasn't learned her lesson about "Out of sight, out of mind."

Looks like banishing/ignoring/isolating problem away from Equestria doesn't actually solve the problem.
Sunset's low opinion of Celestia's typical response to any serious threat sure seems vindicated.
