It was a bit OP here but seeing as this was their first connection and the dragon instincts overpowered them both, the times they use powers after this will actually be weaker since for control they will let go of some of that power. Now their power will be based on how close they are and the trust they put in each other so it would take time for the two to become true friends. As for romance, I don't have that much trust in my writing to actually portray a really good relationship so there will be moments where the two are that close but maybe in the end that could be something not sure how far to take that. The Alchemist's Dream story is how I would take it, hints here and there but that is background compared to the stories told.

Yeah that was what I was going for, I do know that this isn't the last time we see Flash or Ember but the two are forced to be connected, bound together forever by their choice and later they will see what they had given up, Twilight a potential boyfriend in Flash but I never see her actually ever giving it thought since she was focused on the good of the world and Ember cares for Spike but would have never admitted it really. Not being the feeling type. I can say that I'll try to give both characters all that they deserve I know that not of people like Flash but he seemed cool the times we saw him and want to give the character respect and Ember well I like her a lot and try to make her important in my stories.

I think it is a little strange seeing Spike and Twilight interact with eachother as if they were friend, but that maybe the effect of the bond.
I like the fact that Celestia don't hate dragons show that she don't want the war but she has to deal with it.

Thanks! Yeah the premise of the war is one I saw in other stories but thinking it through that would change a lot. One Spike would have dragon parents and be raised in the Dragon Lands but still be short and rather weak. Endless wars like this never truly go anywhere and happen to become just another part of life. I bet they don't even remember why they are fighting and are because it's all they know what to do. A mindset like that destroys people and leaves them scarred while going the opposite way, completely ignoring war or trying to imagine nothing is wrong, can prove to be insane. Something we'll see soon.

That's cool and translators can be like that, my story will focus on the war and the horrors it brings but also on the difference a handful of people can make if they have the will to stop it. Hope is a defining point in all my stories and the importance of it.

I couldn't read that at first but I found the place you mean, Shining Armor was training in Canterlot when his and Twilight's parents were killed and Twilight was brought to Canterlot after this. The torture is bad but also shows that the princess knows about the power of dragon's will and that this war has changed her. The spell Twilight used to soul split with Spike is dark magic which is why Celestia never wanted her learning it.

I still am more or less on the idea, not so a villain as someone who is tired of fighting and wants to win by any means necessary. A big mystery of the story will be how the war started and the part Celestia had in it seeing that she was at the beginning. The big point later will be that the dragons and ponies are both wrong in the end.

Yeah and that's just a matter of bad luck since AJ and Spike weren't trying to send out that fire. Applejack will now have a dragon problem and all of Ponyville is in trouble.
Big Mac isn't dead but he is far from Canterlot or Ponyville so the family doesn't know much other than they get letters every month or so but it's their parents who are dead from dragons and that is what pushed Big Mac to enlist. He chose it and AJ would have also but someone needed to stay with Apple Bloom and Granny Smith, so dragons are what broke up the Apple family. i'll clear all this up in the story in the next chapter or two
