The Cutie Mark Crusaders and their friends have a mystery on their hooves, and the only clue is a Unicorn mare whose kindness, gentleness and charm seem almost too good to be true. If they can’t discover the truth, all of Ponyville may be in danger.

This story takes place after the My Little Pony Movie, and before the start of Season Eight.

one of the dailies was having a discussion on her a couple days ago, I was sad you hadn't posted this yet.

I guess technically this is a G1 crossover?

Oh, good grief. You've turned her into a Dianetics robot giving ponies personality tests: if they have personalities, they fail the test and get elsewhered......

I love this bit:

“Sorry girls,” Scootaloo said. “But I got a good feeling about this. These fillies-”

“And Pip!” The Dink noted.

“No!” Pip begged.

So Gen 1 ponies are taking over Gen 4 ponies? lol Love it

I love your rendition of Dinky and Ruby. And poor Pip. I am VERY concerned about the grownups.

Pip is not far off from his standard adorably Dickensian self from canon, but the credit for Mulder-esque mystery-horror fan Dink and brash, tomboyish, wise for her age filly Pinch goes to my dear friend Patchwork Poltergeist, whose foal-writing skills are world-class. You can see more of those two in a supporting role in Patchwork's recently concluded epic of social politicking, foalhood drama and tea, The Silver Standard.

Those who are familiar with the earliest of G1 may have a different experience reading this story than those who have no idea just who this Majesty mare is, I confess. But there's more going on than a straightforward crossover, as future chapters will show...

Why is this story in the G1 groups?

I wonder how many chapters until you have me sobbing like a lamb...

Seriously, SO, that avatar of yours is very misleading. :c

Oh geez, it's HER!

Those who are familiar with the earliest of G1 may have a different experience reading this story than those who have no idea just who this Majesty mare is, I confess.

Case in point! :raritywink:

You fear the Day Breaker, you shiver in your bed at night just thinking of the Nightmare.

But those are calamities that fall on all creatures.

Behold the frightful Majesty, destroyer of anything that isn't a pony. The true reason Celestia and Luna fear to take the title Queen. The Inequine Equine. The Monster Mare. The Destroyer of Races and "Protector" of Ponies.

The Inequine Equine. The Monster Mare. The Destroyer of Races and "Protector" of Ponies.

"White Mare of Dream Valley with a Thousand Foals" too perhaps?

“Bedtime, my little colts and fillies! Bedtime! Time to find a spot to snuggle up in and have a nice rest and some lovely dreams!”

Now I am thinking of The Many from System Shock 2

Wonderfully creepy. You got me primed for the next chapter.

She's the worst sort of crazy......the crazy that thinks it's helping and won't stop because it's crazy.

Nice touch with shocky, shamed Sweetie.

I really wish this was an actual episode. This is a great story.

Majesty really is a great villain.

She becomes more terrifying with each passing chapter.

Great job.

How the fuck isn’t this more popular? You’re doing such a fantastic job, and I’m totally hooked! I hope you update this soon.

There's no one more of a monster than someone with good intentions.....

Wow, she REALLY messed up Discord... How can Luna and Celestia not feel the raw magic coming out of ponyville?

Or noticed that the entire town has gone silent.

Well, it's only been a couple of days and Ponyville is hardly Manehattan. As for the magic question, that remains to be seen ... :raritywink:

Maybe she got to them too.

Well, it's only been a couple of days and Ponyville is hardly Manehattan.

This is Ponyville we are talking about mind you; Celestia et al undoubtedly felt/heard/saw the explosion in Ponyville and then merely shrugged thinking "It must be Tuesday again" ...

More like unsettling.
This my attempt at writing so tell me what you think.

She is Queen Majesty, "Protector" of Ponies, mother of all foal, and watch all your troubles bubble away. Play and joy for no monster will harm you no more. Play and sleep in the Dream Valley forget all your troubles ,fall to Lotus dream away from the evil of awakening world. For she will protect us one and all!Keep us safe, Miss Majesty!

I think that could work in a verse structure, maybe with rhyming. It would make it something like a nursery-rhyme crossed with an old legend crossed with an incantation.

On the other hand, I'm absolutely awful with verses, rhymes, and more structured kinds of writing, so there's not much help I can give.

Woo! It's up! Had a blast prereading!

I recommend Super Powers by V6.......

Why doesn't this story has more readers?
Why don't you, SsO, have more readers?

Gosh, this sucks...
(Not the story; it's amazing)

Interesting twist here. And even sets out to answer some major questions about MLP.

Progress is slow, but yes, it will be concluded! I never leave a story unfinished...

Love the story. Is there gonna be a sequel?

Glad to see this wonderful story come to a proper conclusion.

you dare mock the 3rd son of charlotte linlin by wanting to put that song to foals

This wrapped up very nicely.

“To whom,” Silver corrected.

Gods, that is just... PEAK Silver Spoon, right there.

Well, it's a good thing she's talking to Book Horse about what's happened over the centuries. If anypony can fill her in, Twilight can.

I"m hesitant to read it. Because modern readers these days usually go with the interpretation that Majesty is a trigger happy zealot: forgetting she wasn't above redeeming villains, was a perfectly decent mother to both her sons (Lucky the Stallion, the first male pony her introduced in the franchise, and Spike, who is more or less her adopted son).

You know what I loved most about this story? Your interpretation of Silver Spoon. She's the primary foal antagonist rather than Diamond Tiara, which is what I'd normally expect, and her attitude and character fit her canon personality in an interesting way.

Wow, you're a fabulous writer!

And you're a fabulous commenter! Thanks!

Now that's chilling. Nothing quite like a villain to deep in her own shell of delusions to realize the harm she's doing.

An interesting take on Equestria's musical condition. Twilight did seem pretty insistent that spells should rhyme, back in "MMM"...

An excellent story. Shamefully under-read, by the looks of it.

I admit I would have liked to see a bit more of what happened to Majesty afterwards, but I think I understand why given the story's point-of-view that might not have been feasible.

Also, I see what you did with the unfinished and to-be-repurposed Paradise Estate Mk. II.
