I can see Luna assigning guards to the mane 6, after all they have done in keeping equestrian safe.
Protecting them is just a smart idea, who knows when you will need some harmony blasts or rainbow power.

On a more serious note I love the commando batpony guards! Also Luna reads well, it's not over the top with the old equestrian a and she has a clear desire to bring the night some attention.

Actually, I wrote an interlude, debated putting it up as its own story, then decided to put it in this one, then realized it wasn't done, then sortof got distracted with other stories. But it's not dead yet!
