Basically the parents of the princesses (king and queen(as seen in Katamariguy's picture)) in Frozen have the same fate as Celestia and Luna's parents.
They die at sea in a massive storm going to some country while the princesses are young.
It's only until the events of the movie (years later) that the older one (the "Let it go" one) actually takes the throne as queen because she's old enough.
Though it's the older one that locks herself in her room rather than the younger one, and there's no booze (because Disney
).
