Following the events of "Traveler," Twilight goes to Canterlot to deliver her report on what has transpired since the Doctor's arrival in Ponyville directly to Princess Celestia. She leaves the Doctor in Spike's capable claws, asking him to show Equestria's newest arrival around town while the TARDIS rests and repairs itself from the trials of the previous day.

Although at first distraught at being stranded in the seemingly serene township of Ponyville, the Doctor finds himself reexamining his initial assumptions about the ponies, the land of Equestria, and his compulsive need to travel when he is confronted with the miraculous, impossible events surrounding Ponyville's resident party mare: Pinkie Pie.

The Pinkie Conundrum is the first in a series of continuity branching off from the foundations established by the Doctor Whooves stories: Number 12 and Traveler by the very talented Squeak-anon and all references to these two works of fanfiction is credited to him. Also, while this is a separate continuity from any future works by Squeak-anon, it is strongly recommended to read these two fictions before reading Pinkie Conundrum.

In an infinitely improbable set of events, Twilight Sparkle, Sunny Starscout, and other ponies of all generations meet at the Restaurant at the end of the Universe, make friends, and get thoroughly confused about the nature of the multiverse.

A quantum superposition of all pony generations with the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. If you are not familiar with that, this will not make much sense.

If you are familiar with it, don’t expect it to make much more sense.

Magic and technology may have pierced the void and blazed a path between the realms, but that was the simple part. Adjusting to the changes that follow can be far more daunting.

Yet despite the complexities involved even in basic communication, Serendipity has found friends to talk to among humankind who can cheer her up when she's down. And occasionally inspire her to bursts of ingenuity unhindered by such trifles as foresight.

Ten thousand years have passed since the golden age of ponykind collapsed and the horror of Old Night fell across the galaxy. Equus itself is now but a shadow of the shining beacon it once was.

The rulers of that golden age are long vanished, and few believe them to be anything more than myth and legend if they existed at all.

But one mare means to change that. None know her name, but none can deny her prowess or ability to lead. All will one day call her by a simple title. The Empress.

In her heart though, the Empress, the mare once known as Twilight Sparkle, will carry that title even though she feels she does not deserve it.

The time has finally come as the final conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the evil Galactic Empire draws near. The Empire has grown stronger than ever with a second Death Star under construction and the recent return of the ancient Sith lord, Darth Andromedis. The Mane Six, Storm Shield, and Spike head into the deep recesses of space one final time to aid their friends in bringing down this evil plot. Will they finally be able to bring an end to the empire and finally save Sunset Shimmer once and for all? Or will the empire finally seize complete control of the galaxy?

Technology has granted us many wonders, from an abundance of sustenance, buildings that reached for the sky, and a network that digitally connects the world being just a few. However, with these advancements must come a price; there’s little purpose in merely living, smog covers cities and chokes their inhabitants, and the night is bathed in a dull glow that blocks out the stars.

Too many ponies have become complacent in what they have, but one, a creation of technology herself, has had more than enough of it. The structure of society in this modern age has trapped and tortured her for years, and the technology and magic that suffuses the world only adds fuel to the fire, but when an opportunity presents itself in the form of a beautiful and free travelling showmare, she may finally get the chance to escape she’s been so desperate for.
