Well, after six months, revisions on 'The Monster Below: Sunfall' are complete. So glad it didn't take two years (!) like the first book.

Here's a list of everything that was changed:

*Reduced the word count by about 30,000 words by trimming unnecessary sentences and words.

*Fixed up and cleaned grammar and punctuation.

*Deleted the chapter where Chrysalis' changelings attack Canterlot after Silverspeak is released from prison for pacing reasons.

Just wanted to post an update on the revision of 'Nightfall'. I just finished chapter 6 of 23, meaning we're about a quarter of the way done. Also, it's kinda creepy to realize that I wrote this stuff almost four years ago. Where did the time go?

As you might have guessed from the title of this blog, I've started work on revising 'The Monster Below: Nightfall' for eventual publication in hardback and paperback. At the moment, I've cleaned up the formatting and spacing throughout the story, as well as tightening and condensing the first third by removing the initial attack on Canterlot by the changelings, speeding up the trip to Genesis, and removing other material that does not help move the story along.

Well, the writer's block regarding the chapter that's given me no end of grief has finally been resolved, because the chapter in question has been scrapped. After all that work and effort, I realized that the chapter was like the Scouring of the Shire in The Return of the King: While it does add some dramatic moments for Silverspeak, removing it streamlines the story and avoids unneeded action after the climax.

Hi Everyone

Work is continuing on the final "Nightfall" chapter, but I need to take some extra time to polish and refine it, including possibly separating it into two chapters so as to not rush things. I don't have a release date yet, but it will before the end of the month.

In response to comments brought up by several of you regarding the events of the latest chapter, I have gone back and made a few edits, which are in spoiler tags for those who haven't read it yet.

*Silverspeak and his family cornering Mangus and telling him to give up has been removed: Silverspeak and his family now rush in for the killing blow after Silverspeak lets go of the chandelier, but Mangus blows the sanctuary in half before he can be taken out.
