If you work near a bread slicer...

... be sure to wear cut-resistant gloves. Slicing your finger open on rapidly-moving blades is not a fun experience, nor is cleaning the wound afterwords. Safety regulations are there for a reason! I'm lucky that I still have an intact finger, and that it'll be healed up fully within a month, but that's something I hope none of you ever have to experience.

    Updates and a question

Hi everyone. Figured I'd post a little update about what's happening in case anyone's still following me. With the assistance and advice of resident Navy sailor Kaipony, I've been working for several months now on an a three-book, alternate-history World War Two naval saga that pits Celestia and Equestria against Nightmare Moon and her allies. But unlike my previous stories, which were written,

If you could erase one MLP character from existance, who would it be?

I'd get rid of Button Mash. Not because I have anything against him, but because it would spare us all from the seemingly countless incest stories he's involved in. I know every fandom has it's seeder, unsavory sides, but good God, why are so many people into stories of a grade-school child having sex with his mom, or her wanting to have sex with him? Knowing that his (non-canon) mother

Who would be interested in getting a physical copy of "The Monster Below"? · 6:01am Mar 1st, 2016

Recently, Rainwell Kaen asked me if I had thought about doing a hardcover print version of "The Monster Below" and "Nightfall" (when it's finished, of course). I've been thinking about this idea for several months now, and it seemed a good time to share my thoughts on the subject.

On the one hand, I'd be more than happy to make copies of "Monster" and "Nightfall" available to anyone who would like it... but on the other, publishing fan novels is very thorny territory in terms of legality, and I'd rather not get involved with that, mostly because as someone who's trying to break into the field of both novels and screeenplays, I don't want to be known as The Guy Who Writes Pony Fanfiction. Such a label would be disastrous when it comes to establishing a career; it'd be like Stephen King or Danielle Steel being outed as authors of Star Trek fan novels when they were trying to break in; no publishing house would take them seriously, and their livelihoods would be over before they sold a single book. Furthermore, I'm also very wary of putting my real name and address on anything related to these stories for fear that they could be traced back to me (such as, say, the address on a mailing box), so making them available to others is a dicey proposition.

Now, I have self-published my own fan novels before, but only for myself, and they are not available to the public to purchase (and I had to alter the titles), and when my schedule clears up I am planning to do the same for the "Monster" books. With that in mind, if I could find a way to mail things anonymously, I am potentially open to mailing them out to interested parties on a one-on-one basis, but it would probably take several months to format the books, have them printed up, mailed to me, and then ship them out to those interested in getting a copy; with that in mind, I'm putting this blog up to see who might be interested in acquiring a physical copy for themselves.

I'd love to get a copy of The Monster Below in book form. Also, I know quite a bit on printing them, for I've worked in the FoE Print Project in the past and am currently helping two people with making a printing stories. Due to the fact that it's late here and I'm about to pass out, PM me about it and I'll get back to you with my information tomorrow. I hope to hear from ya soon.

I'd love one.

I'd love one too!

Thanks for considering it. I'd love the physical copy, preferably hardcover.
Unfortunately I don't have any experience with printing ones, but I'd help you any way I could.

First of all, I'd like to know of your affordable printing service. Secondly, hardcover if at all possible is recommended, those seem to increase in value. (And, If I could afford the 100plus dollar manufacturers price I'd have printed up my comics in hardcover. . . even if it would cost others 3X the price.)

In my opinion Monster Below would need "more" artwork, and the existing artwork would need greater(if not grander) details. If you print them up, print them up as a single volume because I sincerely wouldn't purchase Nightfall at all. After reading six chapters I completely lost interest in Nightfall and it's a lot like chasing 'Winnie the Pooh on Management' with 'Winnie the Pooh on Problem Solving.' assuming that reference makes any sense.

I apologize, but you set the bar so high with your first installment you'd practically have to introduce an interesting and __new__ main character almost immediately within a B-line subplot. Something that would undoubtably be reminiscent of Wednesday stealing the show in Addams Family Values. Then, you'd have to tie that into the existing framework of Nightfall without undercutting the original story. Plus, as you're doubtlessly exploring the themes that make Frankenstein and Walking Dead such popular franchise, I would expect to see some sort of unholy abomination, and maybe, I don't know explore Beakbreaker's character a bit more.

Throw in some more comedy, romantic or otherwise, and I can tolerate bad if it's funny. Just try to make someone innocently covetous. Sadly, I don't care about any of the characters in Nightfall and that's a problem, especially if you want to pretend the main character is an actor. I apologize for my impetuousness, and impatience, but unless your second installment is attempting to teach some profound moral lesson like Josh McDowell about the nature of Truth or you've decided to explore dualism of character when defining both chivalric and chauvinistic definitions of peace, love, community, respect, honor, and service; it's unnecessarily boring.

That being said, the role of the character in the first was one of apotheosis in the sense of Icarus or Daedalus, in the second story his role should be that of Job or Balls Deep(69 or otherwise), but instead we are treated to Mad Munchkin's alicorn OC or the P-Cramps character that I cannot remember anything about save everyone who meets her seems to vomit. I'm sure you've turned that around in later chapters, but I've completely lost interest in reading Nightfall altogether.

you could always do it with a pseudonym instead of your real name

Sounds interesting.

I know one author who's making a ready-for-print high quality PDF version of their fic. Then people can just go get their own copy printed at a bookbinder or in one of these fancy compact book printing machines that are at some libraries (but none near where I live because why would life be that convenient?)

Would love to purchase a copy ????

I'd love to purchase a copy

I'd be interested

Count me in.

I'm interested.

I would like a copy!

Definitely! And I am sure that, with some brainstorming, you can ensure anonymity, if that is your primary concern!

Depends on times and country:

He's doing great, still writes novels.

Goodness gracious me, a chance at a physical copy of "The Monster Below"? Say no more!

I most certainly would jump at the chance to obtain one!
