Updates and a question · 6:31am April 28th
Hi everyone. Figured I'd post a little update about what's happening in case anyone's still following me. With the assistance and advice of resident Navy sailor Kaipony, I've been working for several months now on an a three-book, alternate-history World War Two naval saga that pits Celestia and Equestria against Nightmare Moon and her allies. But unlike my previous stories, which were written, edited, and posted one after another, I'm trying out a new technique to finish all three books from beginning to end before posting them.
While planning everything out before writing has helped speed things along, it's still going to be several months, if not a year, before the first book is posted here, which leads me to a question for you all: When it comes to big stories, do you prefer for them to be completed before chapters are posted, or would you rather have the chapters be posted as each of them are edited and completed? The former would allow chapters to go up at a rate of one-a-week, while the latter would lead to a new chapter roughly every two weeks to a month.
That's all for now; hope you're all doing well.
I think it depends. If the story will definitely be completed then posting it once it's done is fine. If there's a chance it'll be cancelled then I'd rather chapters be posted as they come.
Happy to help. My preference as a reader is flexible, but there’s something about reading a story in close to real-time as it’s finished that keeps me anticipating and wanting the next installment more-so than regularly spaced releases.
