Everyone knows how fairy tales go: We meet a dumb protagonist who does something foolish. Things go wrong. We learn a moral.

Clearly, fairy tale authors have never met Clyde Pie.

Not every part of a relationship is a fairy-tale romance.

Everyone knows the classic tale: the Three Bears leave to let their porridge cool, the naive little filly Goldilocks comes in, she does porridge. Hijinks, as the saying goes, shall thus ensue.

Dinky's got a little more behind her "re-imagining" than that, though. Her mind stands trial. Can she outwit the grim judge (big sister Amethyst)? Can she appeal to the all-loving jury (Derpy, walking disaster zone and friend of insurance sellers everywhere)?

Or will she find the chair to be much too hot? And not "just right" at all?

Ten years. Ten years was all it took for Fluttershy's life to fall apart. She's living alone, her friends are farther than distant, her one and only love is married to another mare with kids, and she's been practically forgotten by the entire world. She's wondering if life is really worth it, if she would ever get her happy ending.

But life, apparently, has a very twisted sense of humor. All it took was one day to push her over the edge.

I know this story is very, very different from what I usually write. The inspiration for this story came from my own life that hasn't been agreeing with me lately. Here's hoping to things get better.
