Not usually much for posts like this, but Octavia's Last Night is now completed and was featured on EQD. Nice little feather in the cap, especially since it's been a month of Sundays since I saw myself under the ol' blue header.
Given that I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now, I think it would probably be wise for me to sort of explain the rating system I’ve been using here.
Congrats on the resounding success of "Tree of Harmony." Going back to our favorite cliches actually brought out the best in you guys. Managed to squeeze in a few promotions.
So... Yeah, I'm stroking my own ego a little with this one, but I realised earlier that I've published over 100,000 words of pony fiction on this site in the last six months. Considering that this is my first writing venture (like seriously, before Fimfic the closest I had got to creative writing was lyrics) I'm quite pleased with my progress. When I started, I didn't expect things to go this quickly, especially considering the quiet months between March and May (where I posted like two
Even though most of y'all in North America are only just coming around to 2018 now, here in Japan it's already been 2018 for over 13 hours! And after I got over the hangover from last night's festivities, I thought now was as good a time as ever to let folks know that yes, I am alive and I have plans for the new year.
Today's discussion is about a very old cliche. It is so ubiquitous that I'm many of you have encountered it in multiple places before. Just because it is commonplace, however, doesn't mean that we can't examine it and try to do better.
I'm in the middle of writing a fic (suprise, suprise; I'm always in the middle of a fic), and it struck me how awful my first ever story on FimFiction was. Honestly, it was absolutely terrible. Let me just go ahead and list my top five of the biggest mistakes any author can make:
I want to make one thing clear: this blog has been dramatized for ease of reading, and some scenes are shown in non-chronological order so that it all flows better. Everything written here is real, though. The dialogue is mostly literal to the best of my ability and memory. This all happened.
It’s important you understand this because this story is about two things.
Just in time for Independence Day Christmas National Spaghetti Day,* Georg has released a Not-A-Contest entry!
If you gonna bring up what happened days ago, please be civil and I promise I won't be rude. If anything, when people move on way too early, there's no closure whatsoever. I did break a rule but I thought it was acceptable when I finished chapter 2 (Where Applejack and Rarity is part of but not the 1st chapter) before I published this story. And when I brought up Expensive Universe Unlike Any Other, it WASN'T a jab to the person who took down this story, it's mostly that fact it got approved
So of course, right when I only have two more chapters to go on "Grief," we hit this point...
Finally, my first episode of my Dark Souls series is up on my channel, after staying up for 5 FUCKING HOURS last night making sure the upload didn't crash or anything. I've spent a lot of money for my capture card and my Blue Yeti Microphone (which ironically came in a red color, ha ha ha) so I am determined to get some mileage out of this garbage. If you want to see idiot me play Dark Souls and possibly be unfunny then follow the link down below and enjoy what this retard has put out on the
Okay, so this was just brought to my attention from EQG director Ishi Rudell's Twitter feed.
And the comments on said image have everybody flipping out over two things: Starlight's appearance in the opening number of the MLP movie and the redesign of the throne room in the movie that was made part of the Season 8 backgrounds. How does this affect my personal timeline?
Answer: It doesn't.
