So one year ago today I created my FIMfiction account, so to celebrate here’s an update! Like Father, Like Son’s second chapter “The Truth” will come out soon followed by a sequel to the dungeon of Spike called Judgement Days. After that I will focus on Like Father, Like Son’s final chapters and then return to the Grimdark scene.

I got a strange message from someone this morning "from" someone on FIMFiction inviting me to a Discord server. Said server requested that I scan a QR code to join it using my mobile Discord app.
I'm 99.9% certain that it is just a way to hijack people's accounts, doubly so as I was unable to reply to the person in question.
WHOOOOO 1000 LIKES YES THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! this is huge even for me as I never thought it would get this many especially when I thought it wasn't going to be good. to some yeah it's not so great so sue me. it's more for fun and i thank you all for the likes and comments.

More Metallica goodness with their latest new album Hardwired...To Self-Destruct. Significant Other gifted me this for Christmas, and I have really enjoyed it. An altogether lovely return to their thrash-metal roots and a pleasure to listen to!
Some Indie Folk-Rock this time around. I actually bought this for Significant Other for Christmas. I do not typically listen to this type of music, but I must admit it certainly has grown on me. Lead singer Alex Church's voice is quite soothing (to my ears at least)
Peculiar Prezelmen, how to describe you? They all certainly peculiar, no pun intended; take a sold foundation of folk and compose it for banjo and baritone saxophone + clarinet. Stir in a generous measure of gospel and a large slug of post-punk rock. Season heavily with some playfully dark cabaret and add a sprinkle of steampunk for taste. If that is too much music-snob wankery, just think of it as "steampunk cabaret as performed on a saxophone".
...guys mind if I end Becoming a Princess's Love with how it is? I've been stuck with this chapter for a year now and I can't seem to finish it. I'm sorry if any of you guys liked that story...it turns out I'm not really good at writing Flashlight.

BRMC is a lovely rock band with a spot of fuzzy noise rock and gritty garage rock thrown into the mixture.
AlicebanD is a relatively new artist from Essex, England led by singer and composer Alice Walker. She has a very smooth folk style with jaunty piano pieces interspersed with horns. That is about all I can find on her; not much out there on the internet (that I could find). Her music certainly is upbeat and peppy; I dare you to listen to it without tapping your feet!
This one was quite fun. Amaranthe has an interesting melange of powermetal, metalcore, and pop. That probably makes more traditional metal-heads cringe and wince, but I personally think lead singer Elize's bright, clean vocals make an excellent counterpoint to the other lead singer Henrik's more traditional "growly" voice.
Wikipedia Almighty describes Karma to Burn as a "desert/stoner rock" band with "an uncompromising, mainly instrumental sound".
Me? I have no idea what all that palaver means. What I do know is that it has some very pronounced acid-rock grooves that my co-workers and I enjoy listening to whilst loading up the lorries.
Hillbilly Casino is a glorious mix of country rock and rockabilly. Not quite country per se, but you can definitely hear how rockabilly genre influenced "modern" country. Regardless, it is almost breathlessly fast paced, upbeat, and excitedly energetic. Shades of Elvis Presley abound. This one comes courtesy of my coworkers on the production floor. Nothing fancy here, just straight up, pure heavy metal that does what it says on the tin. These chaps have been around for quite some time, possibly longer than many people who may stumble across this this little blog post have been alive... It certainly has a "classic" metal feel with its driving guitars and pounding beat, and Mr. Dirkschneider's distinctive AC/DC-like vocals.
