If you get a strange message on Discord, it is probably a way of stealing your Discord account

Hey folks!

I know I have some of you added on Discord.

I got a strange message from someone this morning "from" someone on FIMFiction inviting me to a Discord server. Said server requested that I scan a QR code to join it using my mobile Discord app.

I'm 99.9% certain that it is just a way to hijack people's accounts, doubly so as I was unable to reply to the person in question.

If you get a message like this, something that starts with "heyy ummm idk what happened or if its really you" or something similar, or something asking you to join a server that then requests you to scan a QR code link with your mobile discord app to join it, I would strongly recommend not clicking on the link and especially not scanning the QR code, as I suspect that's how they got the original person.
