An artifact causes an incident where Luna's gender switches, and she becomes prince instead.

Evidently, Luna turned out to be a handsome prince. Now having to deal with confused and judging nobility, lots of mares vying for the Prince's affection, the paparazzi eager to get more scoops on the new lunar prince, and a sister who seems to want the prince to stay judging by how she sees the entire situation hilarious, along with her pranks and quips, Luna will have to work hard with Twilight to solve the mystery of Starswirl's Sphere and hope that she can return back to a normal life.

Following the aftermath of Queen Chrysalis' evil plot to take over Equestria, and the transformation of the Changeling Kingdom, Princess Celestia has insisted that Twilight Sparkle be guarded 24/7 by a trained royal guard. Having refused the offer to be guarded before, Twilight is not too keen on being watched over every moment of every day.
Although she is doubtful at first, Twilight comes to believe that she and her friends have many challenges yet to face.
As this new development unfolds, a creature of unknown origins comes to Equestria with a dark purpose. Light becomes cast over the shadows of Equestria’s ancient past, and a well known truth may come to save this peaceful land.

The alliance between Equestria and Alemaneia continues to hold steadfast; Colonel Paul Werner and Generalfeldmarschall Aryanne Land's 'relationship' is at an all-time high... though that does not say much.

Things turn unprecedented, however, when Alemaneia becomes the victim. Actions against the state would never sit lightly with Aryanne, and she vows to unleash the entire military might of her nation against the offending foreign government... even at the threat of multi-state intervention in a to-be conflict. The world pleads with Equestria to rein in the fascist nation or risk a global conflict, and Paul is tasked with talking Aryanne's justified response down.

However, she'll only talk to him on one condition:

He must come to Alemaneia.

All the while, Paul must grapple with some of his biggest demons.

I don't know where this thing came from; it just showed up one day on our shelf and there doesn't appear to be any record of it on our inventory lists.

I'm not sure if this thing's freakishly enchanted, cursed, or whatever, but whenever I take it off the shelf, it reappears there the second I turn around! I even burned this thing out of annoyance and tossed it in a woodchipper a few times for good measure and it still manages to somehow come back every single time in one piece! I don't know, it's like this thing wants to be watched!

Still, it shouldn't--not by anypony! One of our employees here got curious and decided to look at it alone, and...and he hasn't been the same since...

The Joyous Hive, responsible for the always important celebrations and joy in many parts of Equestria, vanished without a trace. The Hives of Equestria began searching high and low for them, with very little success. Hope of finding them was all but lost, until one Changeling was found.
Surprise, a male Changeling from the lost Joyous Hive was found in Ponyville, and after the events of the Ponyville attack, he now works alongside Pinkie as an honorary member of the Pie family. He loves Pinkie and the new life he now has, but something is missing...
Surprise couldn't be happier to have a family, but he still feels a loss of his Hive, and after a trip to Pinkie's Family Farm, the feeling gets worse. Pinkie finds out, and decides to help her friend. How? By traveling to every big city in Equestria until they find something, of course. What could possibly go wrong?
