Following Princess Twilight's coronation, Celestia and Luna retire and take an extended vacation touring Equestria. The final stop on their trip takes them to see a dear friend, and to experience, once more, what it feels like to be a changeling in his hive.

It's been many years since Twilight took the throne as Equestria's sole ruler. Running a country is hard, especially now, but she has little choice in the matter. The trip to the wasteland was required though, her friend went not too long ago in order to investigate.

Hopefully she'll reunite with them so they can go back to taking care of Equestria, after all, who else will?

Written for the 3rd Annual Cozy Glow Short Story Contest. And was written in a single evening, with editing done later.

If this is not to your liking, I totally get it, but I do my best to handle it in a reasonable way that gels with an equine perspective on inbreeding rather than a human one - horses have enough chromosomes that inbreeding has few consequences, therefore an equine society wouldn't have a strong taboo.

Applejack is a simple farmer, Rarity is a complex and up-and-coming fashionista; two very different personalities and two very different lifestyles. So different that they had very little contact or interaction with one another until a certain lavender unicorn came to town and six near strangers became the best of friends.

Can Applejack and Rarity learn to get along or are they just too different? This is the story of a simple farmer and not so simple fashionista....

This story is, first and foremost, a gift for the incomparable Mushroom, who clearly must be some sort of undiscovered species of fungus dog since we definitely don't deserve her. I have it on good authority that this story gave her Many Feelings, and I hope it gives them to you, too. :)
