Nothing hurts more than a break-up... except, perhaps, that break-up following immediately after a marriage proposal. That's just the situation Silver Script finds himself in with his marefriend of five years: everything was perfect until he proposed and she rejected him.

Calamitous events set into motion by Flurry Heart’s birth tear apart reality. The ground is torn asunder as sinister invaders emerge from the underworld. Ancient cults emerge from the shadows to herald the foretold arrival of their dark overlord. The Crystal Empire faces its most dire threat yet as a new, evil, and most adorable master launches her campaign to lay claim to the world to bring about a new era of unsurpassed evil.

While most of their days are spent being Mom and Dad to their young foal Red Velvet, there is one day out of the year that Sunbeam and Pepper Ridge reserve to be just wife and husband: Hearts and Hooves Day. It's their special day when they can stay in bed, gaze into each other's eyes, and enjoy a kind of romance that only other married couples can understand.

To earth ponies, there is little more important than tradition. Foals grow up taught everything from family recipes, songs, dances, to folk tales passed down from generation to generation. Of these traditions, none is more valued than a proposal, an offer to entwine your life with somepony else's.
