This story is a sequel to Spike the pony

Spike wants to be a pony again and Twilight wants to test a highly dangerous and possibly deadly spell. What could possibly go wrong?
I'll tell you what everything!

First entry of my Literary Trilogy.

My name is Ditzy Doo but everypony calls me Derpy. My name is Derpy Hooves and this is my family. My name is Derpy Hooves and I miss them so much. My name is Derpy Hooves and I fear they forget me.

After yet another successful concert, Sweetie Belle, now grown-up to be a nation wide pop sensation, has a chance encounter with her old childhood friends, Scootaloo, Applebloom, Diamond Tiara, and Silver Spoon, and agrees to meet with them and their husbands and boyfriends the next day at a cafe. After her old flame unexpectedly arrives, she invites all of them to a week-long excursion to a cabin on the famous Vanish Mountain, where they can spend time together (as well as win the heart of the one she loves).

Unfortunately, Sweetie Belle had no idea about just what she had signed up for when she purchased that accursed cabin, and now they must struggle to survive against things that seek to prevent them from ever leaving.

No matter how much they struggle, however, the ethereal eyes that watch over the mountain shall never lose sight of its prey...

but she knows she could never come to that, nopony would ever want a shy thing like her.

but that all changes when she finds a baby Changling on her door step, feeling sorry for the little thing fluttershy takes him into her home, but taking care of him will take some time to get used to.

(based off a Scottish story saying that fairies will still a human baby, and leave a changeling in its place, I messed with it a bit though...)

3 years have passed, and Mother's Day is making its way to Ponyville. By now, the Mane Six have their own families, and are spending time with them as well. Even Apple Bloom spends time with Granny Smith, since her mother was not present at the moment, and Sweetie Belle was staying over at her mom and dad's house for the weekend. Everyone is happy.
All except for Scootaloo. With everyone talking and having fun with their families and mothers, it gets her thinking about her own family, and she wonders why they left her so long ago.

This is inspired by yum soda's "Alone"! Credit goes to her!
Also, the "Alternate Universe" tag is there because this is set 3 years into the future (as you probably have already guessed). Let me know if it's not needed, cuz I'm not sure myself. xD

Celestia comes to visit Twilight and Starlight after Hearth's Warming Eve festivities die down for the night.

Starlight, figuring she'll never have a chance like this again, asks the immortal alicorn about what went down all those years ago.

But when Ponyville suddenly comes under attack by a mysterious force, Luna is discovered missing in the aftermath. What's more, this force is being commanded by a malicious creature wielding a terrible power that the ponies have actually heard of, but know nothing about.

Once again, Twilight and her friends must take up the Elements of Harmony in defense of everything they hold dear, but if Equestria is to have any real hope of surviving against this force, the ponies must first unravel the mysteries of the power that threatens them.

-Act 1 - A Tale of Two Sisters. Word count: 72k
-Act 2 - Shadow of Malice. Word count: 102k.
-Takes place mid season 3, before Keep Calm and Flutter On.
-This story assumes there's a one-year time frame for each season of the TV show, give or take a couple months here and there.
