After Discord's attempt to correct her pronounciation is mistaken by Pandora for the name of the country, Discord tells her a bedtime story about the fate of the country Draconequui and all the draconequuses that ungrammatically lived within it. Pinkie Pie's night takes an interesting turn when a tall faceless pony appears randomly in her bedroom. Excited by the idea of a new friend Pinkie is bouncing up and down asking him questions about his life and talents. Little does she know that this Slender Mane, a pony older then time who came to ponynap her and take her away. Armed with the power of laughter these two are in for an interesting night.

Discord's enthusiasm for his first Hearth's Warming Eve is a little disconcerting for the ponies of Equestria, especially in Ponyville. His bizarrely intense love for the holidays is both refreshing and a bit dangerous. But he won't stop at decorations and carols. For his first Hearth's Warming Eve, Discord wants to prove to his friends that he really has changed by giving them each a present they will love above all others. But a little bit of the whole "Spirit of Chaos" thing insists on leaking into the gifts. When all have been given out and he's left to think about the results, he starts to wonder if this is all just proof that he was never meant to be anything more than a villain.

The plan, he thought, was perfect. Instead of returning to the mortal world as a shade of his former self, King Sombra would transmute his soul into the body of his greatest foe, using her influence and power to destroy Equestria from the inside and take vengeance on the Princesses that stole his beloved empire.

There's just one problem: after her fight with Tirek, Twilight Sparkle changed her address. This turns out to be a much bigger problem than Sombra thought. A Dinky-Doo-sized problem, to be precise.

Discord died saving Twilight Sparkle and in the process all of Equestria. Or that's what everypony thinks, until a strange egg is found at Sweet Apple Acres, and Princess Celestia says it's the egg of Discord reborn. As the Element Bearers prepare for his return, some ponies remember Discord's darker days. Forces long dormant awake, wishing the return of the rule of chaos, while others, equally old and secret, will stop at nothing to prevent Discord's rebirth! And then there's just one more thorny little question. Who in their right mind would want to adopt him anyway?
