This story takes place two years before Power Ponies: Harmony Forever.

Back in the day, superheroes were celebrated by some. The others support the Super Purification Act. That's part of the reason superheroes conceal their identities, especially Twilight Sparkle a.k.a. the Masked Matterhorn. But when an old secret of Princess Celestia comes to light, Twilight must team up with other heroes to fight two threats. One full of darkness and the other full of insanity.

After a long day of busting flanks at the Wonderbolt Academy, Captain Spitfire is looking forward to a nice calm evening of domestic bliss. A home cooked meal, an attentive girlfriend and their son having finished his homework, she finds none of those things but life is pretty good anyway.

This was my entry in the L contest of the Quills and Sofas' Pride Month series of speedwrites.

When the Wonderbolts Academy holds a party for the trainees, Rainbow is excited to go! But when she also finds out Soarin' is going, she brings out her A game.

That is...until something goes wrong of course!

A close encounter with a category three Kaiju leaves Midsummer Night, a Mark-II Jaeger, in the inky depths of an unknown ocean. With no communications or navigation available, the pilots, Shane and Michael O'Connell, are well and truly out of their element.

General plot of the story is a bit of Soarin/Dash shipping with a good dose of drama thrown in throughout the story in the form of Spitfire trying to screw them up for her own nefarious reasons. Throw in a dash of crazy, a touch of romance and a sprinkle of surprises and I think this could turn out well.

Soarin bit his lip in annoyance. "That's blackmail."
Surprise smiled innocently. "Oh is it? I didn't realise!"

An opening of an art exhibition featuring the Wonderbolts premieres in Canterlot, drawing crowds of enthusiastic upper-crust ponies along with two much less enthusiastic Wonderbolts; Soarin and Surprise. Readying themselves in for a long and boring night of photos, autographs and hanger-oners, the unexpected arrival of a guest opens a door to Soarin's past; a door Surprise is all too happy to pry open a little further...

Smolder and Spike hang out in a makeshift lair to discuss life or stir up a little trouble. Just a place to escape Equestria and chill, or in this case burn stuff.

Rainbow Dash is a simple mare. She loves flying, she loves napping, but most importantly of all, she loves her friends. She loves her family. She loves the little tortoise who sleeps in the corner of her bedroom. She loves her town, she loves her country, she loves her world.

She's never thought about what she would do without it all. She's never thought about what she would do if she woke up one morning, only to discover that the world had passed her by. She's never thought about what she would be willing to do, how far she would be willing to go, to get it all back.

Featured 7/2/22 - 7/8/22

Pinkie Pie invites everypony in Ponyville to her wedding, and with Princess Celestia as the SDIG (Super Duper Important Guest). Including Rainbow Dash, of course. She doesn't mind to go until she hears Pinkie Pie set up the rules.

One, any pony who attends Pinkie's wedding would have to bring a partner of the opposite gender with them. Two, the lucky mare who gets the bunch of flowers at the end of the wedding must come up on stage to kiss their partner.

Rainbow Dash isn't really comfortable with both rules. First, she doesn't have a partner. Second, she doesn't want to catch the flowers.

Given that Pinkie's wedding is in one month, Rainbow only has one month's time to find a partner...and a dress for the wedding.

Soarin Skies and Rainbow Dash have been friends since childhood. For Soarin, he doesn't know that Rainbow has a crush on him. For Rainbow Dash, she doesn't know that Soarin has a crush on her. Will they confess each other's feelings? Or they will stay friends forever?
