Before Rainbow Dash and Zephyr began to surf again, Zephyr wanted to trade surfboards since he likes Rainbow’s a lot better. Rainbow agrees but she'll never trust Zephyr after what happens next.

Zephyr Breeze has never been a brave pony or a particularly able pony. He knows this. He lives this. And yet he's always tried to take the quick and easy way, hoping that the answer to his insecurities and loneliness could be found just over the next rainbow (or with it). Every time he just found more empty space, but it beat the alternative of accepting that he was a failure.

Eventually, though, he had to stop. After the worst day of his life, he finally started to settle himself, move forwards, and take responsibility. His life wasn't going to be a dream, but neither would it be a nightmare. And while he'd never own Rainbow Dash's heart, that didn't mean she wouldn't have a place for him in hers.

Fluttershy has been called away on an adventure. An adventure without Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash has inevitably been seeing more of Zephyr Breeze since he started working for a company that offers freelance hair and makeup services for performers across Equestria. That company has recently entered a six month trial contract with Wonderbolt HQ.

Since he started working with the Wonderbolts, Zephyr has been hitting on everyone. Well, everyone except Rainbow, at least. To make matters worse, no one seems to be fazed by his flirtatious behaviour, even Soarin apparently doesn't mind his advances.

Rainbow is extremely agitated by this, and she cannot for the life of her explain why.

Rainbow Dash has never been able to feel emotion since the war of the Crystal Empire began, who can feel anything else when everyone you meet just dies the next day? However, once Celestia brings in the new soldiers a certain one catches Rainbows eye for some reason, but how can anypony love or feel another emotion on the battle field? It's useless, it's stupid, it might be what Rainbow needs now.
Set in the universe where Sombra has taken over the Crystal Empire.

After a long day of letting down her friends, Rainbow Dash loses confidence and feels unloved and unappreciated by the inhabitants of Ponyville. Whilst waiting for the sun to set, Rainbow gets a visit from Soarin who is determined to put a smile back on her face,
At the same time building up the courage to ask his mare friend a question which will change both of their lives.
