7736024 Basically its Soarins birthday and Soarin was going to ask Dash to marry him however she thought that he was going to dump her so before he could say anything she flew off and then soarin met up with her and explained everything and asked her to marry him and Rainbow said yes.

7737096 Because it shows that she is used to rejection (in this story) so as well as adding a reason as to why she didn't turn up; It also makes some readers feel sorry for Rainbow Dash and that Soarin is the only one who would truly stay by her side and never leave her.

I guess that makes sense. Don't take this the wrong way, but that sounds a bot like lazy writing. If you had a prequel were she had been rejected a lot then this would make more sense, but write now it's just confusing. That aside this is fairly well written and the consept is great so I give you a B+.
