Spike went through a similer transformation when he horded presents. Its greed which means ember consider Anon either a treasure or she od on sex and wanted more compouded by natural dragon greed. Which is a shame because I felt the most connection to besides chrysalis. This means that the relationship wouldn't have worked out.
