I always loved Spits as tsundere, it just made sense.
Also, Soarin' is fun because he has no established backstory and thus, has so many versions.
These kinda tales are the best, love it!

Tbh, things felt a tad over-descriptive at times, but all in all, a very cute one-shot! It's always great to see more stories of this pairing. A cool change of pace too, with Soarin showing the strong initiative in this story. Well done and thanks for writing!

It just honestly fits them to a T if you ask me. A very well written story, along with just good characters that are believable, really make this story stand out for a short little oneshot, it's fantastic!

The story was excellent, and i had to let out an immediate "aww" when I first saw the description. Deserves a like for sure, and enjoy this warming and lovely tale. However, I noticed you included church in this. Now, I would normally associate church with Catholicism, Lutheran, Christian, Protestant, et cetera, and don't know enough about the actual Equestrian history to know if they do have churches. Yes, there was a wedding in the actual show, but I don't even know if the ponies of Equestria have a religion. I know Celestia is essentially a god alongside Luna in the actual thing, but are the ponies all Aethiest or is there an actual religion?
I digress, and I don't believe it was too confusing. I do think that this was a great fic, and love your craft. Keep up the good work, and Merry Christmas! (Or whatever you celebrate!)

This was good! Sorry it took so long for me to get to. 
It hasn't really felt like Christmas around here to me, the year has gone by so fast.
But this story...I definitely felt the spirit of Christmas. This has helped my holiday.
I really started to relate to Soarin when he was all - "it's cool, my Mom's chill and I can smooth it over." Sounds pretty much like me there.
I really like the relationship Spitfire has here with Soarin. Like they could easily become an official couple. And It also feels like a good starting point for more of their loving, joint holiday adventures (hint, hint
)
Spitfire isn't the easiest pony to get close to, or to have her let her guard down before you. So it feels extra rewarding to be allowed to break that barrier down and have moments like they shared on the couch. Again, it wasn't hard to imagine myself in Soarin's shoes in this heartfelt moment.
I laughed, after uttering a hearty - 'Heck no we don't! ' remark. If I were him I'd hastily draw a crappy mistletoe and duct tape it above us if that was really necessary (for traditions sake of course)
