In my life I've met many ponies, but few have ever made a lasting impact on it. Sure. There have been good friends along the way, and I've had my fair share of romance, but there's only been one pony who's ever really made an impression on my life that stuck. If it weren't for him, I don't think I would be where I am today.
As time went on, I made my dream a reality, but along the way I lost touch with that pony. Every day I hoped that life would give me a chance to find him again and repay him for giving me the strength to achieve my goals.
It's funny how life gives us exactly what we want when we least expect it...

As much as i'm a grimdark story lover, I could never resist a Soarin x Spitfire fic as they are my favorite paring in the series.

Okay, gave this a read. The first segment of the story, up until Spitfire took over his evaluation, was VERY reminiscent of another SoarinFire that I've read (granted that it was clop, but I digress). I bit too close at times. I can tell you've read it, I just KNOW you read it, but I'm not taking away any love for this story because of it. Great job with the trick and the flashback. And a pretty darn good job with the first person perspective. You had better write some more stories soon, because I want to read more by you. Keep up the great writing!

Great story
I like this story a lot. Would only call it friendshipping, buts its a good, solid story. Presenting the premise, and presenting their relationship to one another and building off that. I do wonder through why they lost touch, but its not super important.

Aw, such a good Soarinfire fic. <3
I adore that couple, so much better than any of those two shipped with Dash and they get shipped with Dash an awful lot. But for me Soarin and Spitfire will always be a match made in heaven: The adorable nice oddball and the cool professional Captain, one makes the other fall her professional mask and let him show her feminine side and the other one gives him strength to push him beyond his limits. I love it.
