the spy seems obvious given asha's story.
The wete sure like the word "maybe".
Hopefully the gods/spirits will prove useful in providing Verik and asha a family, although it might be better to just be very wary of them.

Many cultures have this taboo against being absolutely certain about something so they have no sense of showing up on time or being able to say "it shall be done." Instead it becomes a "lets just wait and see" situation and it can get very aggravating.
9480569
We shall see.
9481743
i suppose it puts a greater emphasis on the people who give their "words" or promises to do something greater weight.
I don't think the spirits truly understand that which they set loose upon the world.
I say beat the intel out of spy, then kill him no mercy. Plus when did this spy suddenly taking notice of verik?
9482446
Maybe.
9483110
Who knows? But as Verik pointed out a spy suddenly going missing is a dead giveaway to someone else.

Its one thing to have something new out there, but did they really take the time to understand the species?
I'll grant the guys handicapped but he's got the advantage of 'His kinds done it all before'
9483587
Handicapped? Technologically or mentally? Also species does not determine who someone is or how they act despite the crap scientists try and force down peoples throats.
9483617
Technologically handicapped. The lack of ready access to tools isn't helping him much either, but I suspect he will fix THAT problem in due time.
And in this particular story, you are correct, species won't really be much of a difference, he doesn't get that advantage since they're similar in build to him. But I am referring more to human tenacity to keep going and accomplish seemingly impossible things. He's rather close to getting the first steps done there.
9483624
Well his desire to conquer has been well laid out and verified now but as for the tools part... I find people forget just how much industry goes into making a pencil, true he will logically address problems in due time but one does not go from 6000 BC to 1455 AD overnight let alone in three centuries. The technological base required for such a feat is utterly lacking to say nothing of the mass education needed to run and create the machines.
Edit: I have found the above to be a "mary sue" problem in stories I have read here or elsewhere, everyone thinks they are going to turn cavemen into astronauts in two years.
9483630
Aye, but charcoal and bark or something relatively writable can suffice for the short term. (until he discovers those quills and books at least)
Any chance of him using an Archimedes screw?
9483632
I am not going to spoil the story but while he lacks a great deal he does understand some things, you will not see that device here as a canal was easier than building one. Wete is the focus of the problems for now but everyone already knows cities are going to get involved at some point and they come with a tremendous amount of problems that have to be addressed.
9483638
Common sense being one of the more prevailing ones with the populace
Then there's the more physical issues, food, water, sanitation...
This is where I honestly expect to see his knowledge start to come in strongly.
And don't worry, I enjoy guessing things as I read. So many possibilities.
First, since I haven't said it, I will now- This story is very well written. The grammar is great and the attention to detail is extremely well done. The interactions between characters are believable and flow really well. Got some answers this chapter that are paving the way for forward progress. Keep it up!

Thank you for the compliment, trying to improve my grammar is one of my many goals. I like story progression to make sense too as so many stories just jump around without explaining how or why something happened. Cause and effect. However, the path is being laid out but it shall be a very rocky one and I hope you enjoy the journey!
9487325
is the human going to be come a spirt shaman warrior?
9487447
I guess you will have to read and find out for yourself exactly what he is when its all said and done.
I really am enjoying this story and I do like Verik character but, when he talks about life on Earth good god does he sounds like an Incel that hates capitalism.
9480569
It wasn't just her who survived and lives in Wete, I believe. Another one was a warrior, one from her home but never met personally.
I do love the story. However, I'm beginning to get really annoyed with his attitude towards earth. I understand he had a very bad life there, but he as no right to judge all of it like he has, it's too one sided, he never mentions any of the good things, and theres lots of it too.

I can only say this on it, it doesn't have to be related to our earth so to speak. Or that his own cynicism and personal experience made things seem different. This is a character that has his own perspective, and to him, earth may have been hell.
