Dream Warlord, that should be a title with a threat behind it!
Felt like a awesome prelude to the skirmish that’s about to coming.
Great chapter. Looking forward to the main clash
No Geneva convention or 'rules of war' in this world. It's gonna get ugly. Points for either the intentional or unintentional usage of psychological warfare. Aztecs used such a tactic to great effect.
Edit: misspelling errors.

that far worse then any demon
and they say that they attacked wete a tiny insignificant village, and woke the warlord from his slumber, the servant of war and began their doom, and all across the land as blood flowed was heard the sound of laughter from the god of war as the new era began in blood
You have no idea.:D
Fun fact: many of the gods of war were also patrons of farmers
But I'm sure you already knew that just curious why Veric didn't tell so?

I kind of described the situation by showing how Subira acted during Nuru's little ceremony and then finally when Verik asked about it. Also, Nuru herself has no answer as a great deal has been forgotten or lost so no one could give Verik a straight answer anyway, not that he himself would know. As was shown he was never a religious man, did not believe in any of it at any point but now his faith is up in the air. All that Nuru COULD tell him was that the god of war was of both death, war and destruction but also protection. Also Nuru only knows a handful of prayers for her OWN goddess and Nuru (along with those in Wete who have any faith) prays mostly to the spirits and not the gods. If you recall earlier in the story it is explained as to why the gods walked away along with the spirits for the most part.

thank you for answering
unrelated to your story: sure, even general spheres of influence of ancient gods by no means common knowledge but when studding history some info on religion helps
aftercall back then (Roman era for example) people had mythical and religions worldviews and such things had great influence on daily life or major decisions
Got a funny thought: what a game changer in this battle would be just 1 somewhat decently armed rank and file hoplite or viking(or smth similar)
And his equipment will also cost more than Wete in money

True, Roman's and Greeks in particular relied heavily on sacrifices and omens, going so far as to not take an action depending on how a liver looked. But, it is also true that their military leaders understood how to take advantage of it one way or another as one man did, cant remember his name. He was going up against a Carthaginian fleet and the sailors were ready to mutiny because they were convinced they would lose, all the omens said so, well the admiral told them he would sacrifice some chickens to see if it was true or not... By throwing them into the sea. If the chickens swam away safely then they would flee, if the chickens sank then it was a good omen and Poseidon was pleased. Well they tossed the chickens in and being that chickens do not swim, they sank and he declared it proof of victory. He also went on the win the naval engagement which only made him look even better in their eyes as he had been shown divine favor.
A Roman military proverb:
"A general will be quick to dismiss luck and superstition when addressing the soldiers, but a wise one knows to never underestimate it."

Yes, it is a fun thought is it not? And yes they would cost more than Wete is currently worth financially.
It’s nice to finally start seeing battles and all with our MC. Keep up the good work and hope to see more!
Good, finally some action.
Isibuso seems to want a severely insignificant village for no real reason. Maybe he picked random village and is using it as a test?
Dude, whenever I read this story, especially when a fight or battle is going happen, I always get the "shakes", I'm pumped and can't wait for the next chapter! THERE MUST BE BLOOD! BLOOD I SAY, BLOOD!
I don't understand what's causing them such fear or anger. Most here don't believe in spirits let alone gods so why are they suddenly concerned? At most they should be saying that it's a waste of time, right?

It is called a crisis of faith, as was already detailed in the story it is not that they do not believe, it is that they turned away from their faith because demands were not being answered. Nuru on the other hand, represents something and wields a power that reminds them of these other powers and it spooks them because she remains that silent reminder that they are not gods but so far down the totem pole of power they cant see the top of the pyramid. Also, I never said Sefu or Tendaji did not believe, Sefu is a believer while his brother simply has more problems to deal with than he can handle and has no time to tiptoe through the tulips.
Nuru is also that cruel reminder that you are NOT the center of the universe, it is NOT about you and you will never get your way in the end, you are just one insignificant speck in a larger universe that will keep moving whether you like it or not. It is another faith conflict of ego vs. reality with Nuru being reality.

Blood for the Blood God?
