Epilogue Part 3 - Wreckage

"Effective immediately, you three are expelled."

Vice - no, Principal Luna's voice was ice, and her face was stone. The three girls did not dare look her in the eye.

She gestured towards the newly appointed security guards. "Escort these three to their lockers to clear out their belongings, and then get them out of my school."

One guard opened the door to her office, and ushered the three very chastised girls out, the other following close behind.

One they were gone, Luna collapsed into her chair, her stone masking crumbling.

Despite her demeanor earlier, she was genuinely worried about those girls' safety. Since their identity as Anon-A-Miss had been revealed, and that they were essentially the catalyst behind the attack on the school, the families of many students were out for blood. They were no longer safe here.

From what she had heard, the girls' families were sending them to different schools to different parts of the country. Apple Bloom to Appleoosa, Sweetie Belle to Manehattan, and Scootaloo to Cloudsdale. They were also forbidden from contacting one another.

Luna sighed, massaging her temples. How her sister had been able to handle this job, she would never know.

"Sit down, girls."

Applejack and Apple Bloom complied as their grandmother stared at them with blank eyes.

"Ah jest got offa the phone with Filthy Rich." Granny Smith said softly. "He wasn't best pleased about wut you and yer friends wrote about his youngin' in that web page o' yers. He has informed me that he has officially severed ties with Sweet Apple Acres, and is issuing a city-wide cullin' of all Sweet Apple products from his stores."

Apple Bloom struggled not to sink into her seat.

"And that's not all." Granny continued, as if she were discussing the weather. "Ah been on the phone all day with kinfolk of the students you badmouthed. They're filin' lawsuits against us fer slander. Ya know what that means, Apple Bloom?"

Apple Bloom bit her lip. She looked to Applejack, but Applejack refused to meet her gaze.

"Ah asked ya a question, young lady."

Apple Bloom shook her head, fighting back tears. "Ah didn't want this."

"Ah'm sure you didn't." Granny answered coldly. "But unfortunately, those families don't care 'bout ya wanted ta do. They care 'bout what ya did. An' cuz o' that we could potentially lose the farm. Our home."

"Granny." Big Macintosh admonished from his seat. "Do ya really have ta-"

"Yes Ah do, Big Mac." Granny replied. "Apple Bloom needs to understand that her actions have consequences, and that they don't necessarily affect jus' her."

Granny turned to her eldest granddaughter. "An' don't think Ah forgot 'bout you, Applejack. You told that girl she was yer family. Ya looked her dead in th' eye and you told her that. Is that how ya treat family, AJ? Toss 'em out like hogwash when somethin' don't go yer way?"

"Let me ask you something. What if you and I were related? What if a member of your family did something like this? Would you have abandoned them like you did me?"

"Well Ah don't see how that really matters, seein' as how you ain't mah family."

Applejack gripped her bandaged arm tightly. "Ah...Ah was-"

"What? You were mad? Ya think Ah'm not? Should Ah toss you out?" Granny shook her head in disgust. "Come here. Both of you."

They did as she asked. She folded her arms and looked them dead in the eyes.

"You two have disgraced the Apple family name. You've gone and convinced everyone that we are nothin' but a bunch o' backstabbers and liars. Yer folks are undoubtedly rollin' in their graves right now."

Their eyes widened as the old woman wrapped her arms around them both.

"But despite all that, Ah still love you both jest as much as Ah did the day you were born. Ain't nothin' gunna change that."

They hugged their granny back. She ignored the fact that her shoulders were damp. Big Mac came over and joined the hug.

"We'll git through this." Granny whispered, her eyes misty. "Ah don't know how, but by th' grace o' God, we will git through this."

"No matter what comes, we will face th' weather....." Applejack's voice shook as she sang the song her pa used to sing to her.

"W-we're Apples t-to the core....." Apple Bloom finished, full on sobbing.

All four Apples stayed like that for a while, not daring to let go.

"Are....are you sure this is what you want, sweetie?" Mrs. Shy asked for the umpteenth time.

"I'm sure, Mother." Fluttershy answered. She kept her eyes on the truck as the men from the ASPCA gently loaded the cages into the truck.

She couldn't do it. She couldn't keep those animals in her house, in her room. She couldn't bare to look at them, to touch them, not after what she had done.

The last cage contained Angel Bunny. The poor creature reached out pitifully through the bars with a tiny paw, an imploring and heartbroken look on his face.

Fluttershy turned away and walked towards the house.

"Please! No more! I don't want to hurt him!"
"Why not? You hurt me."

She bit her lip as she fought back tears.

"Without a second thought."

"It's for the best." she whispered, as she cradled her bandaged arm to her chest.

"Rest assured, your daughter is in good hands."

Igneous Rock bowed his head, his hat in his hands. A normally stoic man, he looked as though his very world had crumpled about his feet. His wife, Cloudy Quartz, stood by his side, and was not looking much better.

Sitted behind him were three of his daughters, Maude, Marble and Limestone Pie. Marble's face was obscured by her hair, even more so than usual, her arms wrapped tightly around her chest. Limestone's fist were clenched tightly in her lap, and she looked like she wanted to hit something.

"Idiot...." She hissed, her shoulders shaking slightly. "Pinkie, you idiot."

Maude was as stoic as usual, though if anyone were to look closer, they'd notice her eyes were redder than usual.

While this was going on, Pinkie was sitting on her new bed in her new grey uniform. Her parents and her doctor said she would have to stay here for a while, until she got better.

Honestly, she didn't think she would ever get better.

She stared down at her bandaged arm. For some reason, her family seemed to think she had done it to herself. She didn't even try to correct them. Because really, did it even matter anymore?

"Was it fun leading me on, Pinkie? Did you enjoy laughing at my expense?"

Tears streamed down her face. Tears that had been streaming for days. She didn't even bother trying to wipe them away.

Sweetie Belle woke up screaming.

This was the fifth night in a row.

Her parents rushed into the room, desperately trying to calm their frightened daughter.

Rarity curled tighter under the covers, her hands clamped tightly over her ears and her eyes squeezed shut.

She had tried the first few nights to comfort her sister, but Sweetie had only screamed louder whenever she got near her.

"You and your sister made your choice. Now you both have to live with it."

To her ever-growing shame, Rarity was almost glad that Sweetie was leaving for Manehatten tomorrow.

Rainbow Dash leaned against the wall of her cell and sighed. It was over.

Manslaughter was added to the list of her charges. She plead guilty without any hesitation. She'd be in this hellhole for the next three years.

She was able to find out what happened to the others later on TV:

Gilda was declared insane and unfit to stand trial. She'd be in a mental institution for the rest of her life. Dumbbell got five years.

As for everyone else, the judge had taken their ages and the severity of their injuries into consideration and gave them all five years probation and very heavy fines. He'd warned them that "if they so much as put a pinkie-toe out of line, he'd have them thrown in jail so fast they'd get whiplash."

Her parents had visited last week. As did her former captain, Spitfire.

She honestly didn't know what was worse, Spitfire's indignant fury or her parents' heartbroken confusion.

"I just....I don't understand. Why? Why?"

"You had potential, rookie! You were going places! Why the hell would you throw all that away? Over a stupid picture?!"

She had no answer.

Rainbow laid down on her cot and turned to face the wall.

"So much for friendship. Huh, guys?"

"Scootaloo! Let's go! We're ready to leave!"

"Coming!" Scootaloo called back. She gazed at the photo in her hands one last time. Her younger self and and a smiling Rainbow Dash gazed back.

With a sigh, she tossed the picture in the trash, picked up her crutch, and hobbled towards the moving truck where her family waited.

The boys stood silently in front of the wreckage. One by one, Flash, Snips, and Snails each placed flowers near the destroyed portal.

"I'm sorry it had to end this way." Flash whispered. "I just hope, wherever you are, you're at peace now."

"You always stood up for us." Snips said somberly. "Even when you were being mean to us, you always had our backs."

"We'll never forget you, boss." Snails whimpered, a single tear trailing down his cheek.

Flash patted the boy on the shoulder, and with one last look at their little shrine, he ushered them gently back to his car to take them home.

Author's Note:

And that's it! That's the end of the fic!

I hope you all enjoyed this insanely dark take on Dainn's "Anon-A-Miss"

If you hadn't read his fic, I suggest you go check it out!

Gilda was declared insane and unfit to stand trial. She'd be in a mental institution for the rest of her life.

This made me laugh.

I enjoyed this story over all, and I'm glad that you took the time to write it.

On a side note, do you have plans to resume working on "Life Goes On"?
Or is that on indefinite hiatus for the time being?

8666673
Glad you liked it!
And don't worry about "Life Goes On." I am definitely gonna pick that back up as soon as I can!

Well, we all knew it was going to end this way. A bad ending for everyone. They need to suffer the consequences and will never be the same again.

The Apples risk losing everythinf because of Apple Bloom and her Anon-A-Miss stunt.

Sweetie was a gold statue so she is now afraid of Rarity. She wanted morw time with her but she now won't be able to be close to her.

And Scootaloo has cut dies with Rainbow Dash. Her hero whipped her instead of saving her.

And the Magic of Friendship is broken in CHS. Everyone suffers.

Sunset is free.

is Pinkie Pie in a mental institution?

Also you misspelled "Epilogue"

How come Rainbow only got three years while others got five years?

8666780
They tend to give people a lighter sentence if they either say they're guilty or comply with the police force. Also it comes down to the judge himself so there's that

8666780

As for everyone else, the judge had taken their ages and the severity of their injuries into consideration and gave them all five years probation and very heavy fines. He'd warned them that "if they so much as put a pinkie-toe out of line, he'd have them thrown in jail so fast they'd get whiplash."

Rainbow got three years in jail. The others got five years probation due to extenuating circumstances .

8666765
Technically, it's a mental health clinic for troubled teens, but, yes. The girl did try to kill herself.

8666796 Ok. Do you think Rainbow would get kick out of CHS when she comes out of jail 3 years later?

8666971
Ummm Dude, Three years in Prison, Rainbow was suppose to grudate within one year so yeah she been kicked out of school.
Luna doesn't even have to be there to do so. It the same as dropping out of school, only she was forced to, as she went to prison.

8666968
Though i'm just going by some stuff i heard in real life. Not sure if it's true or not

couldn't have been sunsets grave instead were flash and snip and snails payed there last respects

CSC

Great story man, great story.

So either all the deaths, curses, and physical imparement's that were brought onto the students, crusaders, and the mane five either went away when Sunset vanished from this world or they were just some type of physical illusion caused by Sunsets broken heart? I just hope the girls learn from their mistakes so that this never happens again and I hope Celestia's doing ok. Also dont worry Luna Im sure you'll make a great principle "just hang in there girl make your big sister proud" well anyways that was a great story 10/10 my friend.

Yup, down to hell in a handbasket for all those involved.:fluttercry:

Pity you didn't portray Celly's life after her dismissal - she certainly didn't deserve her ending, though it still happened under her charge.

Thanks for the reading! ;)

8667081
No, it wan't sunset's grave. Sunset's body was cremated. It is currently in former Principal Celestia's house. (She had forged documents making Sunset her legal guardian.)

8667204
The curses were 100% real. As are the scars they left behind.

Finally an end. Not a good one for anyone, but an end. Sunset's story is over but hopefully others can grow and do good in her place. Snips Snails and Flash have the best chance, while the other rainbooms have so much work to be done.
With that said it was a fun ride! But now i need some happy Sunset to make up for the tears! MAKE IT SO!

Well, I believe after all the torment Sunset can rest in peace. At the end there were few people who still cared for her, yet they'll have to deal with the grief of her death.

The girls will have to endure the hard times to come for their mistakes by picking what left of their broken lifes.

I'm wondering how this incident will affect Sci Twi? (But this is not the case, and isn't matter).

Excellent work!!

The last cage contained Angel Bunny. The poor creature reached out pitifully through the bars with a tiny paw, an imploring and heartbroken look on his face.

memegenerator.net/img/instances/30691060/right-in-the-heart.jpg

8667650
I don't care, never liked Angel Bunny

8667666
That was Equestrias Angel Bunny, in the EQ world, he wasn't a little asshole

Well one plus side, the lawsuits against them will fail. Slander requires the statements to be knowably false, and these were true secrets so not slander. Could be privacy violations though not likely.

So..

-Applejack And Apple Bloom are most likely going to loose their home and livihood. All due to Apple Bloom’s role in hurting so many students and in Sunset’s death. And in the end, she isn’t even going to get her time with Applejack that she so desperately wanted, as she’s going to be sent away to her cousins. As for Applejack herself, she has to live with the disgrace of abandoning someone she said was family due to her anger and pride. A fitting punishment, considering how important family is to the Apples.

-Fluttershy now refuses to take care of another animal again, fearing what she would do to them. Sure the curse is broken, but her Elfen Lied incident with the kitten has shattered her completly. She’s stuck with the painful truth that despite all of her kindness, she also can be the cruelest person around.

-Pinkie Pie...Well, I don’t see her getting out of that hospital anytime soon. And I don’t see her throwing any parties, laughing or even smiling for a very long time. And considering how pony Pinkie had a mental break down in Party of One when she thought her friends didn’t want to be with her anymore...

-Rarity, her relationship with Sweetie Belle is completly destroyed due to the Midas Touch incident. No doubt Sweetie is looking forward to her leaving for Manethannan more then her sister is. But like Sunset said, they have no one but themselves to blame. Sweetie chose to hack Sunset’s phone, to post those pictures and to go along with Apple Bloom’s plan. And Rarity chose to throw Sunset away.

-Rainbow, hers is actually the best because you had Spitfire spell it out to her: She had a bright shining future ahead of her. And she threw that away, all over one photo. Sure she’s going to leave jail in three years, but no school or sports team is going to want to assiocate with a murderer. Rainbow had a bright future before. Now she has no future.

Scootaloo, She now has to start over and try to rebuild her life and reputation without her friends and Rainbow. I don’t know why but I see this more bittersweet then as a downer for her for some reason.

8669528
Don't forget that Scoots was walking with a crutch. Rainbow had whipped her so hard that she has trouble walking.
And barring that, there's no way there not gonna leave scars. Scootaloo is gonna have to live with what Rainbow did to her for the rest of her life.

8669785
I think Scoots is better off without Rainbow Dash at this point. I mean, even without the whipping, Scoots had learned that her idol had set up Sunset to be killed all because of that one photo. She shown she was willing to kill someone all over a bruised ego. Whipping or no whipping, Scoots would have to live the fact of what Rainbow Dash did, and how she (Scoots) was ultimately respionable for it. Major paranoia fuel if you ask me, cause not only would Rainbow Dash not trust her anymore, Scoots would have every right to be scared of Rainbow, despite it being it her own fault.

So, here's my personal epilogue scene.

XXX

It was a month since what happened and Canterlot High had yet to recover. In fact, it was unlikely to recover at all. Students returned, but even so, they were weighed down by their own guilt and shame. A memorial shrine had been set up in front of Sunset's locker by Flash, Snips and Snails. They felt it was only right she be remembered for the girl she was after her reformation, instead of the monsters others made her into. Nobody dared to touch it save to leave flowers. They did not want to disrespect the dead.

The students that assaulted Sunset Shimmer never returned to school as they were also expelled for what they had done. They were unlikely to forget what they had done, and what they had caused. Perhaps, if they knew the consequences of their actions, just maybe it would not have happened. They would always have to carry the scars, both physical and mental, from their traumatic encounter with Sunset Shimmer. It was going to take years of therapy. Luckily, they did not end up like Gilda who had gone insane.

Lightning Dust was unlikely to walk again or do the things she loved. She was a prisoner in her own body. Her parents pulled her out of school and moved away so she could get treatment, but the girl would forever suffer from depression.

Speaking of depression, it was heavy around three girls. They were the remnants of the group known as the Rainbooms; Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity. They sat at their usual table in the cafeteria, but were simply going through the motions. What would be the time for idle chatter was just silence which they shared. They still wore bandages to cover the scars Sunset had given them; Liar, Cruelty and Greed. Those were their new titles. No longer were they symbols of friendship. They were just shards of a broken friendship.

Because of Anon-A-Miss, and because they turned their backs on Sunset Shimmer, they had lost four friends. Sunset was gone, dead. Twilight was in Equestria and could never come back without a portal and it was unlikely she ever would if she found a way to come back. No she washed her hands/hooves of them already. Pinkie Pie was in a mental hospital after a suicide attempt. Rainbow Dash, well, she was locked up and would only be free in 3 years.

Celestia had lost her job; Luna had replaced her as principal and she was a strict one. She had zero tolerance for all the bullying and even expelled the culprits behind Anon-A-Miss, the Crusaders. Though, this was done to protect them. Now, they had gone to new schools to start over, forbidden from contacting each other.

And then the doors opened and three girls the student body never expected to see came into the cafeteria. It was almost like a bad dream when they saw it was the Dazzlings themselves.

"Well, well, well. Look at what we got here, ladies," Adagio said tauntingly. "Canterlot High."

"But nobody's smiling," Sonata added.

"Well, they did kill a girl, so they have to be assholes if they want to smile after that," Aria remarked.

"I mean, really, as bad as we were, we never killed anyone. Makes you wonder who the bad guys really are," Adagio commented.

XXX

So, I just wrote this. Basically, the Dazzlings will come and taunt everybody and remind them what they've done. They won't let it go away. They can sense all the misery.

8670086 At least the Dazzlings won't starve, seeing as Sunset's death is fresh.

8670086
please expand this, love it

8672047
And depending on if Sunset placed limiters on their new Heart Stones or not, there's also no one left who could stop the Dazzlings if they decided to start causing problems again.
Sunset's dead.
The humane 5 are divided with RD being thrown in jail.
And Twilight won't be returning ever again.
Their entire world is effectively screwed if another magical disaster kicks off.

8681028
Not exactly. At the very least, it won't be by the Dazzlings' hands.

Remember, in the film the reason the Dazzlings were able to power up is because they absorbed the magic of the Humane Five. The Magic of Friendship.

That Magic is gone now.

So while the Dazzlings will be able to feed and thrive for many years to come, unless they come across another magical source, they will never again be as powerful as they were in the climax of Rainbow Rocks.

Wait a minute, how's the human Sunset gonna react to this? If this ever gets a sequel, that should be the focus.

I can see a spin-off point with Princess Twilight going insane trying to reverse the time and becoming a Nightmare herself and with that event more stories open up. I could see discord despite TO save Twilight to save Fluttershy from going insane. After I am finished with my own Anon-a-miss story which is a part co-op can I tackle the story where princess Twilight becomes a villain and in saved by discord?

"You had potential, rookie! You were going places! Why the hell would you throw all that away? Over a stupid picture ?!"

That; Captain Spitfire, is something I've been saying not in this story but in the original story that this fanfic is based off of as well. Then again, what do you expect? Sometimes, Dash's ego gets so big and so great that; I am not kidding when I say this, even Vegeta would blush at.

8712372 Vegeta what is Rainbow Dash"s ego level?

Vegeta: It's over 9000!

And I realize I spoke too soon. O_o

8730105
yea, you got a point.

I...I'm sad.

Been a while since a fic made me sad. Poor Sunset...

8668403
yes but on the other note what the cmc did is legitimately illegal and this well mean the courts well become aware of identity theft and several other crimes.

8811560

The only illegal things they did was sweetie bell stealing pics off sunsets phone, and possibly scootaloo taking a pic of Dash's paper if it was in Dash's locker. They never put Sunset's name on the profile nor used her picture so can't argue identity theft.

8811613
they used her silhouette which is to say her image in an unauthorized fashion with the specific intention of making others believe the profile belonged to her, people have gotten identity theft for less.

also there is the fact that according to the internet act and the law in most of north america, they are accomplices to everything that happened to sunset, look it up in similar situations of cyber bullying people have gone to jail for manslaughter and assault when they had never even touched the person, they should be charged with pretty much everything rainbow dash was.

8811781

Those cases were of direct bullying, as in harassment. Anon-a-miss wasn't targeted harassment, it was the posting of secrets, which is not illegal. What the rest of the student body did to her could be classified as harassment but it's a stretch to say they could be charged as accomplices.

8812121
it's happened in real life, people who have been cyber bullied get beat up murdered or commit suicide and later there bullies are identified the get brought up on charges related to the persons death or injury.

I just read the whole story............(cries mentally)........WHY?!?!?

8836688
(shrugs) Hey, you were warned.

You've made a good use of Dainn's story, hope you got some recognition from him or from people here.

The idea is nice in general, but I've read a story that looks like yours, and I can't say if you inspired him or if he used your story as a base...
This one : https://www.fimfiction.net/story/400201/unexpected-allies

Anyway, good job again ^^

This was really good. Guessing scoots crutches are from her spraining her ankle and not RD. I liked the spin you put on this a lot.

8861109
Wrong. RD whipped her so hard she has trouble walking.

8861141
Huh, neat. I thought that she only got hit on the back, but it makes sense that her legs might be hit too.
