The description, especially the quote, made me think of one of the Madoka Magica trailers... Anyways, it's nice to see more original Anon-A-Miss stories pop up, especially one with Demon Sunset. I really like how she handled Snips and Snails as well, instead of just being indiscriminately evil. On a side note, I'd recommend the name Solar Eclipse instead of Flare, as it fits the color motif and coldness better.

Definitely that scene, but my first thought was one of the trailers that used that quote while showing clips from the darker scenes. All I remember was that I saw it at the start of a review, but I can't remember which one.
I like the the story so far, tho I wish for longer chapters. The only thing I would suggest is changing the rating from Everyone to Teen or Mature, just from seeing the stories current devolpement I'd say it's going to get a bit gory.

Doesn't matter. As long as those ungrateful humans who have tortured Sunset get their just desserts; especially Rainbow, it's always going to be a happy ending to me. Because, I don't tolerate with people who ignore, insult and assault innocent people and get away with it without punishment.

So, I see what Sunset's doing. She does not have to kill anyone to make them suffer. Gilda will forever he blind, I think Dumbbell is cripple and so on. Force them to live with the punishment is pretty much her way. Or is the idea to make them break down in despair?

That chapter was brutal, I might not be able to finish reading the fic at this rate. I don't see the ending going completely grim dark, though with how Applejack acted in the dream thing (you see a dead Sunset and still mouth off to demon Sunset who looks like a corpse...) I wouldn't be surprised if they survive and get cured but remain broken after. Applejack's friends will probably be able to figure out what happened to her, but their corruption will prevent them from helping.
My prediction for Sunset is that after everything is over, she'll probably say one last goodbye or leave a message (for Twilight and/or Celestia) before letting herself pass on. Still, between Snips, Snails, Adagio, and Twilight, Sunset may have a chance to survive and heal. Then again, her surviving and healing may just mean manifesting her power into some kind of anti hero. That would be an interesting take, her still being broken and not fully able to trust anyone, but still trying, while filling the hole left behind by seeking justice/vengeance for others like her, or maybe helping others reform. I'm really curious as to how this will end, I'm just not sure if I'll be able to hold out until then.

So, I had an idea of Rarity. How about selfishness. Say something happened and she just say she doesn't care. Like maybe what happened to Sunset and she blurts "better her than me". Or maybe she becomes greedy and demands for a dress that someone has. Getting into fights for it. I think generosity's true opposite is avarice/greed.
Rainbow Dash is easy. She could just sell out teammates.

The entire main cast except Sunset being broken and miserable even after being cured, with Sunset dying at the end doesn't sound like a happy ending to me. The other version with anti hero Sunset (which was just a fun little what if) would be bittersweet at best for one out of nine characters while the rest remain broken messes at best doesn't sound doesn't sound like a happy ending either.
I know you said this wasn't going to have a happy ending, but will it at least be bittersweet?
