Trick Question

Being against evil doesn't make you good.

You would, wouldn't you? Ugh, typical.

Quoting an actual conversation that Trick Question tangentially participated in for like three seconds at a party.

Huh, so my entry in Biscuit's latest "we should never write shipfics" collab is retroactively based off this story? 'Cause when Mrs. Cake threw herself at the darksuper-sexy Lord Sombra, we found out from her that Mr. Cake is a total cuck. ("No, he's not!!!!!")

There aren't enough words in the English language to accurately describe this monstrosity. This is bad and you should feel bad for writing it.

Cool, cool. Giving the talk with an interesting twist. Now back to waiting for TSJ to update.

Sigh
You must be stopped!

Hay, at least it has more upvotes than downvotes. For now. :facehoof:

Only at the end did I realize where you were going for with the horns. Well played.

Fun fact: superfecundation is a real thing.

I'm too tired at the moment to do the parody. :twilightsheepish:

Some day, you need to. Possibly on YouTube.

With clips of the Cake family.

So the hottest cuckolding clopfic on Fimfiction is a comedy. Holy shit, that thing about horns...
But "Balka Yagait" made me die inside a little. You know that "balka" means a (wooden) beam in Russian, right?

8576575
I was just going for the best horse pun I could muster with a high degree of difficulty, to be honest. :derpytongue2:

8576575
...and I didn't think of this as a clopfic. I was trying to make it T, originally, but I gave up—Nightjar's line near the end was too ribald. :twilightblush:

8576754
I get the "gait", but what is the horse pun in "balka"?

8576760
I remember reading some Teen-rated stories here that seemed an excellent erotica to me. And of course, I've seen very boring Mature-rated stories, even though they technically contained themes I love.

If you don't see this as a clopfic, maybe you don't have cuckolding/humiliation fetish combo. But I do, and oh boy...

8576796
Stories are meant to be heard with many ears. :raritywink:

I'm glad you enjoy it! I did strive for "accuracy" with respect to the fetish.

"Balking" is when a horse refuses to move.

I could have gone with "Bucka", but it would have made the referenced "Baba" less recognizable.

So I read this just because of the blog entry about how awful it is. :raritywink:

Looks like you might be the victim of the usual 'downvote when I really just shouldn't have read it at all because it's not my thing'. I don't really understand voting based on the content of a story, personally. If you don't like the content, yanno, try trotting away :rainbowwild: Also not a big fan of voting on stuff you haven't read since it gives a false message to the community, and you know some of them came from that. Eh, we all know that song and dance though. I digress.

Anyway, I don't think I can be shocked anymore by a kink, and hey, this is just a bit of funloving cucking, so no problem there. (I mighta had a good time with that, hush - and even some body modding too! Certain folks in my life have no idea what they could get away with if they really wanted to :twilightblush:) Wasn't expecting the unicorn bit so that elicited an 'oh HO' out of me, and the humorous bits worked. I'm trotting away satisfied, I'd say. I even voted! I also had no idea Zipporwhill's five-second-spot dad had a name, so I learned something new today.

My only tiny issue is including Zipporwhill as a character when she doesn't actually appear in the story. I'm of the impression that the character tags are intended for readers to find stories about the characters they're searching for, or at least who have a role in them, as opposed to just a mention. But I guess that's my interpretation. You're also a big fan of the word 'said' - I know, I know, I've heard it before, there's nothing wrong with that word and you shouldn't go to great theatrical lengths just to avoid it. It's a fine word and a necessary one. Blame my kids. Everyone 'said' everything in all those bedtime stories, and they 'said' it a lot - even when it's obvious who's talking in a two-person conversation (maybe that's my real issue there). You should see me reading Charlotte's Web to them. "Yes, I get it, stop stuffing every possible adjective into a massive list to tell us how delicious the pancakes were or how cold it is out today...we're skipping this page now..." (you didn't do that, just elaborating how my brain works with skipping stuff)

Anyway, like I said, I had fun. I must be a pervert or something.

I think the main problem is likely that most readers think Carrot is being abused because they don't understand the nature of the relationship (the fact that his wife and lover are doing this with him out of love rather than spite).

As for 'said', that's a balance. Most critics on the website are anti-saidisms (meaning pro-said) and this has been the general consensus for the past few decades in writing in general. The idea is that 'said' is non-intrusive: the reader doesn't notice it, and it isn't imparting value judgments so it isn't telly. Overuse of saidisms can lead to a number of different problems.

That said (lol), I like variety so I usually use more saidisms than is commonly regarded appropriate. But everypony will have their own preference on that front.

Zipporwhill I included because the story incorporates headcanon about her relationship to the Cake foals, and they talk about her quite a bit. I could have gone either way with her, and I agree it was a stretch to tag her.

8587358
Alas, you're probably quite right about the fact that folks just don't understand the relationship. To me, I read that story and it was obvious - Mister Cake is into this. He's finding it as kinky as his wife is, and if they're all into it...what's the problem? Just enjoy it (or don't, in which case don't read it). Case in point, Gleam or Shine, which I had to add a 'dark' tag to because so many folks felt it was 'rapey'. (You might have noticed Zyrian and I taking playful jabs at one another at Bronycon this year about that!) I added the tag for the sake of the audience, and a disclaimer to both story and sequel about 'dubcon elements', but honestly while I was writing it, I thought it was totally consensual. Ravishment of course, but the idea of dubious consent never entered my mind, and it still doesn't.

I get that folks don't always 'get' the kink that they're reading. Just I prefer to keep voting to the technical, rather than my feelings on the content.

It's really nothing personal with the 'said' thing. Like you said, we all have our preferences, and there are so many ways to English in the sea that nearly everything about the language can be debated ad infinitum, literary or otherwise. I do agree that 'said' has its place, and certainly I use it - you have to really, and I further agree that there's a limit of theatrics when you're trying to avoid it on purpose. For me, too much said just makes me feel like I'm reading something to younger audiences. But...that might be less the use of the word itself, and more popping it in constantly when we don't really need it. Case in point, something like this:

"Hello Jane!" Bob said.

"Hi Bob!" Jane said.

"How are you today," said Bob?

"Oh, I'm doing well Bob, how are you?" said Jane.

It's just...arghhhhh we get it, Jane is talking to Bob, they're the only two people in the scene and they're directly addressing each other. Drop some of the saids, please! So...I guess my said issue is in something of a different context. It's a good word, but every word has a limit. I often look to minimize the use of any word when I'm going back through a proofread, or any gesture. I already have ponies who roll their eyes, flick their ears, or tilt their heads too much, and they're far too 'hesitant' or 'excited' about it!

8560991
It's not about where you're going with the horn, it's where the horn is going!

Wait.

Where's the second chapter?

I don't get the low rating this was not a bad story.

9787971
I suspect it is from readers and potential readers who don't understand the fetish, and assume it is abusive.

9788008
I guess, it's pretty obvious the way Carrot talks that he's into it.

That said, it's easy for a relationship like that to become genuinely abusive. It needs all participants to be truthful and open with each other.
