Didn't take long to move to a new one now, did it? Two new ponies, two new problems. How will they solve them and meet the needs of each other? You can bet hypnosis will be in there somewhere, also I plan to have what might actually be a sex scene for once!

What does dysphoric mean?

7748514
"is a profound state of unease or dissatisfaction. In a psychiatric context, dysphoria may accompany depression, anxiety, or agitation."
According to Google.

Nice I like it could be fun seeing where the goes.

Can't wait to read more about this, I'm enjoying the attraction between the two and how it is helping bring up some issues Vinyl has clearly been having, and resolve them together. It'd also explain how Vinyl went from looking like more mares in the show to something more masculine.

I like this so far, possibly more than the last but no serious master/pet yet so could just be me. I'm guessing Cheerilee will draw out Vi's pet in stallion form as her inner self wants but she isn't wholly acknowledging yet.

Cheerilee, I hope that trim hasn't taken to long or you'll miss the train?

7751003 Note: I have not tagged this one dom/sub or pet play, it is not likely to contain either.

Cheerilee got all the right vibes from Vinyl, felt that part of her that purred when a stallion tried to act suave? giggle inside like a filly.

? = comma here
7751045 That would explain why it feels so different.

7751163 Fixed, thanks.

The binding elements of all these stories are:
1. Unusual ships
2. Consensual hypnosis
3. Unconventional relationships

From the first one we had a lot of bondage and playing with toys. The second lacked that nearly entirely and focused on pet play (and a very different kind to how it is normally shown), and now we have a different relationship building.

Further, in Twilight's Relaxation, we had a straight mare and an asexual one in a happy relationship. The alignments of Dash and Trixie never came up, but I think if neither was in any way queer before, they have slipped down the Kinsey scale a bit now. This one has both ponies a bit more open, Vinyl is very openly gay, while Cheerilee is straight, but a little flexible.

Not everypony is the same, just like in real life.

7751173 Still it's good so far, I know you said not dom/sub and I understand that, but it at least has an early tomboy+tomgirl (for want of a different word, not sure what) feel to it. Not sure how to describe Cheerilee here in a simple term, don't think there is one.

Just a friendly bit of advice:

If you put "You're" instead of "You are", or "Hasn't" instead of "Has not" in dialogue, it can sound more natural.
Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but it can make speech flow better.

Liking the story so far, though!

7755866 It depends on the character for me. Twilight will pronounce every word without contraction, as should Maud. The others, depending on who they are. Will go back over it and make sure any such are done properly.

I think you're getting Vinyl's issue across just fine. Excessive self-consciousness is a pain in the plot. :rainbowlaugh:

Our society makes even the tiniest bit of gender dysphoria taboo, so many people go through life thinking it's wrong to explore their sexuality and personal identity at all. Then they wind up in there 30's with no idea who they are and what they like. Anyway, hopefully more people will comment and admit to enjoying this story! I'm quite interested to see Vinyl learn to accept herself for who and what she is, and not how and what she is perceived as.

I have not even read this yet, just commenting early to say that this summary sounds like it's going to be right up my alley.
EDIT:
Yeah, gender is crazy complicated, as is sexual dysphoria ... I really feel for Vinyl, I've got a friend who's in a similar state of confusion. The idea of using small hypnotic suggestions to help with that is very intriguing. Though my gender is totally male and fairly stable, unlike (it seems) Vinyl's, there was plenty in the story that rang true to my own experience, like the relief and joy at his manecut, his masculine, and after being hypnotized into forgetting those doubts about his gender.
I really appreciate how you're exploring Cheerilee's character; she doesn't get enough attention in my book, and I've long found her intriguing. Using this relationship to explore her sexuality while Vinyl explores his identity could be very helpful.

Gotta say... you certainly have a knack for uncommon shipping don't you?:duck:

7781165 I certainly try! :scootangel:

This story deserves more love.

I have no question today, I have nowhere safe to go with this one. :rainbowlaugh::rainbowhuh::rainbowderp:

This whole story is sweet, keep it up!

"In private." Cheerilee looked up, saw Vinyl's face crack a little. "Where it is just us she seems to happy, so right.

so

If she looks the part, she'll feel the part.

"Bulk Biceps. Apparently he is pretty solid with this kind of thing, gave me the same hooficure work he did ? Shining Armor."

'for' or 'on'
Brilliant, sort of a shame the three of them couldn't have worked it together but ehh wut do ya do!

7876685 Actually it works as-is. As for it being a little more open, that just wasn't a path Vinyl and Octavia had going in this story.

Since the focus of this whole series of stories is unusual pairings, I've got one I'd like to see attempted at some point, though I have no idea how far in advance you plan these out:
Starlight Glimmer and Applejack.

8047505 Interesting, the mare who can only abide the truth, and the mare who can make any words the "truth."

I am working on a continuation of Dash's Restraint right now. Got 6k words down and ready, but waiting for some art to be done for it.

8047509 All right.
Can't believe I'm saying this about a series where one of the stories is entirely about RD being submissive to another pony (since, not only is RD my favorite member of the mane 6 (and my third favorite character overall), but I also personally believe that RD would prefer to be the dom in any sort of pet-master relationship), but I can't wait for it.

8047509 Oh, and I just thought of another pony I'd like to see brought into this series somehow:
Cheese Sandwich.

8047513 Ha! The focus is more on building an actual relationship, with Trixie being the first to propose a date to Rainbow. Of course it won't be that simple, it is NEVER that simple.

As for the relationship, I would hesitate in saying this is really dom/sub. Have you ever seen pet play where the pet is as uncontrollable as Shade is? It tickles Trixie's needs enough for her to feel dominant, but the truth is Rainbow feels freedom as a pet, she can do whatever she wants to.

8047516 Cheese... hrmm. I could see him being the dominant colt-toy for Mayor Mare. It is a hard life looking after everypony in town, which is why—when a particular entertainer visits—Mayor Mare just wants to let go, relax, and maybe let him jam a rubber chicken inside her—so she squeaks when she walks.

The obvious ship would be Pinkie, but one of the best crack-ships for Cheese was Big Mac. If only for the title "Mac and Cheese." :pinkiehappy:

What I ultimately want to do, is have Rarity visit the Crystal Empire, and have another little pairing of Sassy Saddles and Coco Pommel.

Too much to think on now, I need to finish writing Once Bitten for tomorrow morning's updated! :twilightblush:

8047517

Have you ever seen pet play where the pet is as uncontrollable as Shade is?

No, but that's mainly because pet play is one fetish I don't really have unless the relationship is a result of hypnosis (because hypnosis is pretty much my only fetish), so Dash's Restraint is really the first (and only) story that started that kind of relationship I've ever read.

8047525 Most stories tend to emphasize the control aspect, the dominance, and leave the pet becoming a weak-willed submissive. Nope, not going to happen to Rainbow "I am at least 20% cooler than everypony else" Danger Dash! :rainbowlaugh:

I think that should be the Cheese ship you go with then.

You've paired them up in other stories?

Nope.
It would probably take a pony as powerful as Starlight to force RD into that kind of position, as seen in the show.
And while Trixie is good at certain types of magic, she's not that good at that kind.

Plus, you're interpretation of Trixie probably wouldn't want that anyway.

8047529 I have paired up Rarity with Shining and Cadance (in a flashfic I did for some Derpibooru art), but haven't shipped any of the others there before, no.

8047531 Even then, the only way Starlight could "break" Dash, would involve completely brainwashing her so she is just a meat-robot. I don't think anypony could actually break Dash.

8047532
8047533

Huh.
Now I'm just trying to figure out who'd be the more dominant pony in the Coco-Suri relationship, and I kind of feel like it would just be a constant battle for dominance.

I don't think anypony could actually break Dash.

Yeah, probably not.

...And I just realized how deep into the fandom I am.
Because if someone had come up to me in early 2012 (or even early into 2013, since I wasn't as into the show then as I am now) and said in four or five years I'd be discussing various aspects of pet play relationships between the characters in the show, I'd have said they were crazy.

8047538 Crazy like a fox!

The Coco x Sassy ship was going to have a rather dominant Sassy take control, but she would be very new at BDSM (yet enthusiastic). It would lead to her needing advice, and in steps a gray mare who happens to love the Princess of Friendship. Not sure how far that story would be from seeing actual keyboard time, I have just freed up a weekly slot to start writing the stories (like this) that I keep meaning to get to.

8047543 Definitely sounds like an interesting idea...

Though now I also would kind of like to see a prequel as to how Maud got the idea in the first place to get into the whole BDSM thing.
But that would probably be a long time coming, if you decided to do that.

Outside of one final question, and maybe throwing some other ponies to include just to see what pairings you'd come up with, I don't think there's anything left to talk about at the moment.

As for the final question, and it's more just out of curiosity than anything else:
When during the series would the stories you have so far take place?

8047551 The story started just prior to the S6 finale. Activity now is after it, and is why Trixie is so well accepted around town and by Dash.

8047552 Yeah, that does add up.
The only thing missing is an explanation of where Starlight was during all of this, considering she was Trixie's first friend, but that'll likely end up getting worked into the story where she comes into the picture.

Vinyl Scratch is dysphoric about her appearance, and while she feels she is still a mare, she wants to be able to look and act more like a stallion,

Is Vinyl Scratch Transgender ?

8118694 No, but she is gender-queer.

8118750 Put in in Genderqueer, and Twilight's Relaxation too. Not quite as obvious in that, but Maud (in this 'verse) is asexual.

8118765 The Trixie x Dash stories are less genderqueer, and more just a strange relationship (which is why I didn't pop those in too). Thanks for the heads up!

Is it just me or does vinyl scratch look a lot like shinning Armour with her hooves trimmed.

Not really sure what to comment. It was a nice story and I enjoyed it.
