Not bad in concept but everything feels way too blunt and rushed, it's like reading the idea rough drafts for a story's chapters before they get fleshed out. Still worth tracking.
Nice chapter. I could see this being a collection of short stories like the story called Home is for the Weak. You've already got a good base for it and you can easily skip back or forward in time with a heads up before each chapter. And as for ship's? I dont really care.
