Good to see this put up here. I originally found this through the Darkest before Dawn docs and was admittedly disappointed when I realized I had read this before and wouldn't be reading something new. But alas I really enjoy this story and I love your concept of how Celestia and Luna are deities and your take on harmony and chaos. I wonder if Discord, in your canon, can also see all these possibilities and what his perspective is on mortals.

In this story, my take on it is that Celestia and Luna are very powerful and are very... different, but I wouldn't exactly call them gods. I just figure that the same rules that everyone else follows do not necessarily apply to them.
As for Discord, he is more of a personification of chaos rather than an entity from outside. He is much like the princesses in many aspects, but is tied to the world so utterly that even they couldn't help him escape it, not even for a moment. On a fundamental level he is much more mortal than either of them, and at the same time, much less.
You fucking nailed this with Darkest before Dawn, and it is still just as engrossing and imaginative as it was before.
