You are paying for her to spend time with you, to listen and talk with you, even have sex with you. In the end you pay her for your services, and all that "personal time" you spend growing a "connection" with her? For Fleur, it's all just business as usual. She doesn't force anyone to give her and extraordinary amount of money. It's their mistake for seeing a connection when there isn't and acting upon it. Fleur knows the difference that is why she is the best at what she does.

5971799 I agree playing as devil's advocate. I mean For a service like this, the customer needs to know that what they're getting into won't follow up with anything meaningful or worthwhile. Fleur as much as anyone/anypony else is showcasing their services through such means in last night's performance because they want to show why they're the best choice to be their escort.
I can only see this going wrong by Fleur's misunderstanding of Twilight's attempt of making friends with her as part of business, if what we saw at the beginning of Chapter 1 is any indication.
At any rate, I'm liking this so far. Looking forward to more.
6014115 What I like about this story is that it's going in the opposite direction in terms of plot to something like "Private Gig" where Twilight is forcing herself to keep their relationship as "friends", since she is being cautious because of her profession, even though there is a clear attraction.
As for Fleur I can sense some attraction from her unless the rumors about her extorting ponies for money is true and she's kissing Twilight's flank, metaphorically of course(well for now anyway). Since Twilight has yet to approach Fleur as a customer and not as a friend, I don't think that there is any malicious intent. Though now that I think about it, she may just find Twilight physically attractive and knowing that she is an Escort, sex isn't awkward for her and that's why she's so openly flirtatious until she gets a piece of purple pony princess plot, anyway. Fleur is allowed to have sexual partners without the need to be paid, y'know.
