Isn't that Molestias backstory? She sealed away her lust until it became a personality all its own and Luna unwittingly unleashed it?
Yep, Celestia's that old fart that can't stand change.
"That goshdarn radio/television/rocknroll/etc is ruining society!"
What? New chapter already? You spoil us .
Ok Celestia, I am glad that you are willing to fix the problems Shining spoke about but you are a bit too stubborn. If you cannot defend your opinion then I consider it a "bad" one. Of course Luna's counter argument is to Taste the wolf and I consider that to be a rather... Think like this: Someone wants to legalize heavy drugs and their argument is "try it and you will understand". Ok not the same but the principle is the same. She does have a point in that should she desire something very destructive then repression might be the answer but if it is something the Order can handle then the argument is moot. Although should Celestia win then now prepare for a world of asexual's I guess.
Ponies doing bad things because of desire? Celestia wants to quench it, the Order wants to stimulate it. Both means well but I don't like how either does it. But then I want choice and a consequence of that is suffering. Perhaps a compromise would be the best solution. If Celestia would consider it.
But I wonder how Celestia is doing? What is it like for her right now and what will happen to her after this conversation?
8483907
My thoughts? They convert Twilight, and the loss of her only real agent causes her to slip across the despair event horizon and gives in, tastes the wolf and becomes converted herself.
8483748
Some dance together, some dance alone.
8483841
Sounds molestia-like.
8483907
both sides need to test things and work from there.
8483918
This is a tragedy yes, but it would be a very unsatisfying end. If Celestia converts first then we are talking tragedy.
8483919
Don't take it personal, I was not meaning to insult you . Although what do you think they need to test?
The Order is so close to having me on board.
"So, after Nightmare Moon, Celestia – in her grief – fucked with everyone's brain to force them to be sexually repressed."
Yeah, that's fucked up. We should totes try to undo that.
"And it turns out that when the repression is removed a lot of folks are super into hardcore lifestyle BDSM."
Awesome. Point me to the nearest collar store. Sounds pretty groovy.
"And then we all infect ourselves with a mysterious alien disease that turns everyone into fucked up oversexed vampires."
Umm, wait. Back up a second. Do y'all really not see the non-sequitur there?
8483955
I don't see the disconnect, vampires are sexy, just ask any tweenaged-teenaged girl into Twilight.
Or their 40+ something moms.
8483907
I may be missing some introflection, but where does she fail to defend her opinion?
The one thing that the order has proven, is that they specifically can't handle the vampony aspects. They had to create various workarounds to deal with only the most important problems arisen from the affliction.
The biggest problem I currently see (And only) from Celestia is a lack of extrapolation on how she plans to inhibit the base desires of ponies.
8483972
Yeah, these vampires are neither pretty nor sparkly. I mean on the plus side they're probably less emotionally abusive than Eddy-boy, but I'd suspect they would only appeal to a very select subset of the tweeny-bopper population if they weren't pumping out enough pheromones to make a mummy wet.
8483977
She argues that the Order is "insane" and as such there is no need for discussion. She says:
but the Order has more or less already a "fix" for that so to speak.
Now that is true and I had not thought about that before. But the Order seems to be utilitarian and as such principles are probably not going to work against them. But "Celestia represses desires and so do you" is a argument I will remember.
8484018
My memory is not the best, what was their solution for those types of ponies?
8484034
For rape: If you stimulate the desire with sex then there is little need. Now add that to the vamponies ability to feel what their partner feel and any mistreatment will be feel't by the perpetrator (or that is my understanding). Dangerous things for thrills: BDSM, cutting horns, magic, what have you. It is not going to eliminate the problem but it is going to reduce it. Foals... I think it was Cadance that said that foals only are damaged because of how society sees it. If society is ok with it the foals will grow up with no damage.
8484053
Well, things are only theoretical until tested and/or applied, so here's hoping things work out for the best.
8483748
If you have a sex drive, you might mean aromantic rather than asexual...?
Presumably, the impulse provided by the wolf includes not only sexual drive but romantic drive. We've seen that at play already, but it could just be vamponies focusing on it because they have discovered that Twilight is a romantic. (A romantic, not aromantic. Confusing if spoken aloud. Though I guess the former would sound like "uh-romantic" and the latter "ay-romantic", but now I'm babbling. Textually speaking. Which is also the definition of babbling with fingers. I'm done.)
8483943
Which set(s) of norms and mores maximizes weal and minimizes woe.
8483955
*polishes collar and leash for you*
8483977
and, you know, providing non anecdotal evidence for her claim that sex is bad. Plus, you know, checking if she's healthy herself. It doesn't sound that way.
8484057
seems to work out for the foals so far.
8484122
Sorry. Mistress doesn't share her toys.
8484107
No, asexual because the feeling is nice but there is no drive to have sex nor do I feel sexual attraction. Gray-Asexual if you want to push it. But I do indeed have a libido.
8484122
???
Yeah no, I call bullshit on this Luna. At the very least, if you had suspicions, then you shouldn't have acted on them since if your suspicions proved correct, which they did, you would be guilty of breaking your word. This only reinforces that Celestia's probably correct in thinking that none of you Order nuts can be trusted when you pull crap like this.
However I don't think Celestia's solution to double down on sexual repression is a good idea either. She confirms that she IS responsible for the stain, whatever that is exactly, meaning there is a grain of truth to the Order's words. There needs to be a compromise here, and I'd say it to be remove the stain, but toss the vampirism and mutilating sex slave culture right out the door. But...we still can't be sure that whatever the Order is using to remove the stain isn't just replacing it with their own form of brainwashing either. Right now the safest route seems to be to stop the order, and then figure out the aftermath later.
8484122
You do realise that she didn't say that sex was bad, but that ponies up and shagging in the streets when it passes their fancy isn't exactly the most helpful way of creating a stable and lasting society. (Hint, it isn't)
8484144
I mean, test if the order is good, or Celestia's idea is good, or both.
8484134
That's fine. ^^
8484151
Except Celestia is under even more severe mind fuckery, and she won't compromise at all.
8484144
Not to be a prick right now, but Asexual and having libido are mutually exclusive.
Asexual is lacking the desire and drive for sex, Libido is your sex drive.
8484178
No it is not. Having no sexual attraction is a requirement but you can have a sex drive (a so called undirected sex drive). Heterosexuals have sexual attraction for those of the opposite sex, homo for the same, bi for both and ace for neither.
8484151
How so? There was an anomaly in the dream realm. She had her suspicions that it'd be something simple like that, but on the chance that the anomaly wasn't benign it's her duty to investigate as the guardian of the dream realm. Not every act need be considered signs of malevolence.
8484194
The problem is that not only does she 'accidentally' break her promise to Twilight, but she also conveniently disrupts her talk with Celestia as well, and then takes the time to reinforce the Order's opinions after Celestia leaves. That's not exactly a 'Poof in, "Whoops my bad," poof out,' thing that would actually convince me it wasn't on purpose.
8484175
That's why, as usual, it's going to come down to Twilight to finally grow a spine and force one. Neither side is entirely right or wrong here, (even if the Order swings closer to the WRONG side) and neither are actually willing to compromise, so it'll probably come down to Twi having to find a way to force or trick them into one.
8484220
So the fact that it was convenient for The Order of Spring is being used as proof then? She couldn't just magically undo the violation of her word accidental or otherwise, so she used the opportunity to talk. Shall we fit her for her top hat, cape, and evil twirly mustache? Feels a little like you're reaching for extra reasons to be against The Order of Spring and using this minor, easily just a fuck up, incident. I mean is there any actual proof of malicious intent? Any proof that she deliberately violated her word? As I said, it very well would fall within her duties to investigate strange anomalies in the dream realm. I'm not saying for absolute certain that there wasn't malicious intent, but there doesn't seem to be any real strong evidence pointing towards it either.
So Luna broke her word. Not surprising. Fits with the "they are lying out their asses about everything and then insisting they're trustworthy" situation. Celestia apparently isn't very rational about sexuality, but that's thus far irrelevant to the conflict beyond her being a possible diplomatic liability if diplomacy were to ever matter. Possible hints that she engaged in behavior we'd view as unacceptable in the past.
8484253
How exactly is her fucking up her brain to the exact opposite extreme irrelevant?
Also there's this little gem that puts a darker spin on what she's saying in the surrounding conversation.
Emphasis mine. She plans to go in and alter Twilights mind. She doesn't think The Stain was enough, implying she needs to do something more hardcore to ponies brains. Granted her next paragraph has her saying that sex does still have its place, but those sentences do not paint her in a good light. In the slightest.
8484265
Being extremist in the opposite direction doesn't make the moderate position insane by association. The cult is lying about the removal process for the stain, so it's still unclear what it does.
Celestia altering memories/civilization for the greater good is a theme in another of the Trick's stories (I believe she took it down) for what it'sworth. Whether it was justified could be argued, but currently the choices regarding the stain is status quo or let the untrustworthy cult allegedly remove the stain but almost certainly do something else to your mind. We have no trustworthy removal process or certainty over what aving/removing it actually does
I can't get enough of this, I love it
8484311
What evidence is there that they've lied about what The Breakstone does? Here's what I know from reading the fic, tell me if I'm wrong somewhere.
- Celestia for her reasons went into ponies brains and altered them with The Stain.
- Exposure to The Breakstone removes The Stain
- The Stain being removed supposedly lowers inhibitions
- Twilights before and after brain scans of Pinkie Pie seem to confirm the previous point.
- If some other noteworthy change happens then Twilight never mentioned it.
- So either (A) The Breakstone does something to the brain that can't be detected by modern technology, or (B) The Breakstone just removes the Stain as has been told.
8484220
Luna needed to talk to Celestia anyway, and they were in Celestia's dream it looks like? It's not Luna's fault that Celestia refused to even talk. As for forcing a fix, my guess is that will require Starlight Glimmer.
8484311
But right this second the Order is the ones taking the moderate position- they're not happy with it, but they're willing to compromise even though there's no obvious reason they might have to. Now, that hasn't been the case until right this moment but it is the case today. It is possible to test things, at least to the degree the facts are known.
8484325
Mayor Mare's opinions flipped on the spot; that's not how removing something that alters inhibitions would work at all. It's also very hard to explain the 100% conversion rate otherwise.
8484457
It wasn't the breakstone that changed her views. It just removed her inhibitions which allowed her to be more open to these experiences.
Incidentally
I'm surprised we didn't see anything more come from this besides her sensing Pip farting.
8484478
Yes, of course she was mildly drugged. Not surprising at all they did that.
8484144
Ah, okay.
Speaking of unusual things, somepony here clearly has a fetish for downhoofing random comments. They even hit 8483320 which was just a back-reference.
I'm guessing it takes more than one to reach orgasm, or else I'm impressed.
8484492
Missing the point by a country mile. Also she was made aware of the bloods presence before, with Shining Armor even making sure to know for sure before Twilight accidentally drank it.
8483841
8483919
Actually no. The origin of Molestia is this:

8484382
We need to stop unfair discrimination of poor innocent Glimmy immediately! In comparison to that:
she is perfectly nice, benevolent and cute pony for whom respecting will of others is always top priority.
8485307
Starlight Glimmer for freely elected leader of Equestria!

On another note either Celestia 1,2 skipped a few, or she's not as upset with Twilight about fucking up past lunas day as I thought she'd be. That or she's hiding it out of convenience.
It seems both Luna and Celestia need to learn how to compromise.
8488985
Who needs compromise when you can have sex instead?
8491370
Yeah, but my point is that *everypony* is like that. Celestia is like that. Twilight is like that. The CMC is like that. There's literally no "sane" pony left to sort things out. Anyone could be in the right.
8491686
The only sane pony left is Discord, who left before the world went nutzo bonkers.
8494864
Yeah, yeah, stallionxstallion is still a thing. So all those Braeburnxliterally anything male ships are good.
8494864
what sort of sextopia doesn't have universal (or at least normative) polyamorous pansexuality?
8495149
8494960
8494736
Wow thanks Fimfiction don't actually give me notices that people actually replied to me or anything
8495322
I can guarantee that m/m is happening. Maybe not in front of Twilight. I think the one limit is scat.
8495436
The Shining Armor and Night Light makeout scene remember?
8495436
Someone trying to comfort Twilight literally says they won't force Twilight to eat feces, and because of this you think the story isn't kinky enough...
