Regarding the journal entry I just posted: my goodness but I am a terrible tease.
5411028
It was 3 pages of math-themed insults, wasn't it?
5411038
Eh, I'm sure they weren't important. So, maybe?
Shenanigans! Oh how I've missed you.
5411182
You made me laugh! I'd better get my broom.
I look forward to the next entry.

Not exactly. I have always had super-duper amounts of empathy (seriously, I would go to great lengths to defend bugs from mean-spirited children when I was five), and I'm able to divorce fantasy from reality enough that it doesn't really reflect who I am as a pony.
The real reason, I think, has to do with being in a relationship and my psychological inability to deal with fantasies of destruction (in either direction) that involve someone I care about deeply (as fantasies are likely to involve one's partners from time to time).
My biggest flaw in life is my inability to deal with not knowing!
I can't stand when people trail off mid sentence.
I have to know what's in those three pages.
It's bothering me so bad. I love it! So much suspense. Yay.

The secret to dealing with not knowing how something ends is .
Also be sure not to too much!
I am a giant douche.
5415109 just a bit cause I looked and your answer made me chuckle and curse

This is just speculation of course, but it's possible that as a child you did it because that was how you were raised, rather than actively imagining being in the position of the insects etc.
IIRC the part of the brain responsible for empathy doesn't develop until age 18+, and it's not until then that one starts to instinctively mirror the feelings of others - empathic behavior before that is 'trained' into us by our upbringing.

You might think that, but ironically my parents weren't able to direct me much as a child. My value judgments were more severe than theirs so they never had to set rules for me (for the most part). I was I think seventeen years old before my father could get me to watch a PG-13 movie with him.
I've matured since then, of course. To the point where, just to clear the air, Dad once informed me that neither he nor my Mom wanted to have sex with me, even though I had never asked that...
5417187
...but yeah I totally would.
5417167
I promise that, tempted though I may be, I have no intent to write something just to piss off my readers. This isn't the sequel to Lady or the Tiger, in other words.
5417187
Well, there's more to upbringing than the rules set by parents; books you've read, movies you've seen, ... All sorts of things affect behavior.

psychological torture is pretty damn awesome, and even though I love psychological torture more then physical torture... IT MAKES MY MOUTH WATER FOR MORE
5957479 oh, fucking with people's minds is oh-so much more fun than physical pain. it's purely delightful to watch your prey slowly break down... and finally succumb to the throes of inanity...
6638003 it is truly awesome to watch. That doesn't mean that id do it to some irl though.
Join the dark side.

I feel like the only one here that's held on to sanity to this point
