Another suspicious retraction.

1st) Please use spoiler tags, even if you're using your own voice to describe things.
2nd) I realize that this chapter is disturbing but keep in mind it's a nightmare rather than a waking event.
3rd) I don't know exactly what you mean by mutilation, but again, I can't make any promises to what may happen next as that would spoil many surprises to come. I already have a solid vision for what will happen, and I'm not giving out hints. I can tell you only that I would probably have used the Gore tag if I had planned anything extra-bloody or horrifically deformed body parts, if that helps.
PLEASE NOTE!
Later today (and from then onward) I am going to go back and delete unspoilered comments that feature guessing about what comes next or explicit story information. So please spoiler your comments for the benefit of other readers.

To respond about the (to many, quite unpopular) setting which, in part, inspired The Rise of Spring: The Fall of Equestria universe is, indeed, the one with the rape, misogyny, and caribou. There may be a few elements in parallel between the two settings. However, the setting for this story is quite different, and I am entirely certain that there will be ponies who like one but hate the other (and I mean that in both directions). The only way you'll know, is if you keep reading.
Ultimately, it's all a matter of perspective, and I mean that in more than one way...
It wouldn't be the first time I wrote something that totally changed somepony's opinions.
Twilight should realize by the time she finishes reading the book to silently send a letter of her own to Celestia to let her know that strange things are happening both on the home front and in the Empire. Also I'm still of the opinion that Twilight needs to realize that she's in a trap and the jaws are closing faster and faster the longer she waits, so she needs to bugger the buck out or get caught soon, the suspense is just getting dragged out at this point.

You are correct that Twilight does not appear to have openly considered whether or not she should Spike-o-Gram a scroll to Celestia, or at the very least, has not written about it yet. As a separate aside, a traditional letter or package is likely impossible at present due to the weather, so full options are a bit limited...
I'm honestly rather curious as to whether:
a) you are a vastly intelligent pony and have incredible knowledge about things such as wing anatomy
B) you're an incredible researcher
C) both of the above
Judging by your overal amazing writing style and detailed descriptions of certain events I'm feeling it's probably A.

It's a mix. I have a lot of knowledge (professional degrees in multiple fields) and experience (bizarre work history and weird hobbies), but I also do research when needed, and most of that is easy-peasy-Pinkie-squeezy with Google-fu and Wikiponia. Pony anatomy details (including non-pony traits like horns, wings, and so on) are easy to find online, and human anatomy I know pretty well already.
The most research I do is merely to keep things consistent with canon up until points where the story diverges intentionally, or where it diverges due to the fact the comics / books / show / executive comments end up contradicting me after that portion of the story has been written. It's impossible to write much about bat ponies and have it not be all over-the-place and likely canonically wrong over the next year or two (my prediction anyway), just for an obvious example.
5370453 I mean Twilight is an intelligent pony, yes she likes to do things by herself, but she also by this time realizes the difference between asking for help when needed and just being stubborn. I'm just glad at this point in time that Twilight hasn't gone insane twi, like we've seen during both the wedding and Lesson Zero. though you'd think that Twilight would keep closer contact with Celestia.

True, though it's also worth noting that Twilight and Celestia's relationship changed significantly at the end of Season 3, and further still midway through the season finale of Season 4 (where this story begins). As Twilight is no longer Celestia's student, she's expected to do more things on her own, and she's trying to discover her purpose; our story here diverges shortly after You'll Play Your Part (one of my favorite songs in the series, for personal reasons).
I think it's more likely that Twilight would want to warn Princess Celestia than to ask advice from her when Twilight and her friends know more about the situation than she does, but Twilight hasn't had a solid basis for a warning until recently. However, your headcanon may vary, and I'm not about to reveal anything planned on this topic until it pops into place.
All I have to say is that it's a god damn cult. That is all.
This is giving me Rosemary's Baby vibes, not gonna lie.
Second Viewing
If this were a shonen anime I promise you Twilight this kind of attitude would likely bring you a happy ending. This isn't a shonen anime though.
Foreshadowing of her future loss? also
