Oooooor you could use the magical power it'd take to move the sun to rip his head off. I know you were joking, but just saying.

It came from space, falling to earth. And was revived all those years later from a pegasus, who also fell to earth. how poetic ^_^
So after part one I find it very funny that when presented with the vampony phenomena the sisters both decide to experiment and get some infected ponied (I'll assume willingly) on little basis beyond "vampires are cool!" Kind of got Girl Genius vibes of "well of course I made more vampires! What fun would eradicating the bacteria safely be?"
So the damn thing really is a disease, a SPACE disease at that. One Celestia actually encouraged Luna to screw with to try and make night ponies (which explains Tia doubling down on trying to wipe it out, she obviously realized what a screw up she caused). Oh, and just for shits and giggles, this stuff is also responsible for the changelings...
I was just thinking to myself that the one taboo this hadn't crossed yet was necrophilia... Eh, voila!
