Ponies like balloons for different reasons. Perhaps they keep them afloat while playing in the pool, or liven up a party. Perhaps they have other uses, discussed behind closed doors. For some ponies, a balloon becomes a prison.
This is a collection of short stories, to accompany my growing list of "Balloonified OC's."

1.) Sex with fillies is pedophilia. Sex with filly latex dolls is just odd.
2.) Packing up a filly in luggage may cause them to starve or die of hypothermia during travel. Folding up a filly sex doll allows you to take her with you anywhere.

For bonus cruelty points, I'm turning Columbine into a water-tight pool toy. No holes, no being pleasured like the nymphomaniac filly she is.
3749600 actually meant Filly as how celestia put it. fillies and gentlecots. a replacement for the word lady (though considering the fictional nature of said fillies, the fucks i give do have some limit).
and of course you can ship a young mare. just transmogrify her into a a mannequin. not quite as collapsible as a latex balloon, but you can simply reverse the spell when she arrives at her dstination.

besides in equistrai such things are easily reversed. think it has something to do with that True Self stuff shown in Magical Mystery Cure. true self is probably the soul, and so long as the soul remains unaltered the body and mind can be returned to its normal state. and considering it took the fruit of a God Tree to fuck with the true self, anything that can affect a pony that deep is as rare as an honest buy from Flim and Flam.

I like this, a lot. Silver messes up a potion that was a 'surprise' for her marefriend. Ice Blossom comes to check on Silver, but she's vanished. Confused, she goes back to her room where she finds a lovely gift: A squishy Silver pillow that squeaks when you squeeze it.
Her broken heart never heals after Silver ran away, but at least she can sleep with her Silver Script pillow every night.

That's more or less what I was thinking. Although, if low pressure doesn't get her, the high-altitude chill will at least cause the helium to condense a little; in that way, her altitude is limited, like any other balloon.

By how good the art looks mostly, if it looks nice I'm more likely to shade it because the result will look nice. If it's pony creator, well, it'll look like shiny pony creator. I haven't done one in a while sadly, ran out of OC's and motivation.
