The Summer Sun Celebration is tomorrow and you've got work to do, but the heat is unbearable. Slipping off to Ponyville's pond to cool down never sounded so good. What could possibly go wrong?

Written after a random stroke of inspiration from reading a thread. I regret nothing.

well this is creepy

Usually I'm not that much into creepy stories but this was kind of amusing. It reminded me a lot of the "Alma" short on YouTube.

I commented before, but this story keeps popping back in my head, so I figure I'll give it a more detailed review.

In my eyes, this is really the perfect "inanimate TF" fic, and certainly the best one of that genre I have read on FimFic. You have the protagonist utterly helpless, and no one in the town suspects anything and treats him for what he has become. It's such a delicious twist to have him on display above the town hall, on display for hundreds of ponies, and every single one thinking it's just a balloon. You also included a deflating/storage scene, which is quite rare (and awesome).

I don't know, something about no one ever knowing the truth, the fact that he's going to be stuck like that forever, and how he is treated like a common toy; it just strikes at the heart of the inanimate TF fetish. :rainbowwild:Very well done my good sir, it is sad that the 4chan thread you made this for died out as quickly as it did.

I really enjoyed this. The transformation is a great genre and it's nice to read something unique. Instead of brony to mare, it's about turning into an inflatable toy, helpless as nopony notices. I hope you write more stories in the future.

It's quite deferent but I like it. I would love to see a 2nd story like this.

This is so, so creepy. I can't bring myself to like it, it's so creepy.

Once he's up there, I imagine it wouldn't take too long for someone to recognise him and realise he's been missing. Still a bit of a leap they'd need to make, but it's not too bleak for my tastes.

Not bad. I can't say I particularly enjoyed it, but I'll give it an upvote. However, there is one thing that stood out to me: the fact that you state that the character became a simple pool toy, yet also floats in the air. That's quite unusual. If you were to over-inflate a beach ball, it would not begin to rise off the ground. Not to my knowledge, at least. If you know something that I don't, feel free to inform me, but this detail seems highly inaccurate. It's also a little jarring that the character floated after being inflated, but didn't float when initially transformed. I'd imagine this was rationalized through over-inflation, but, as I've already stated, that's simply not how it works. :applejackunsure:

Nitpicking aside, this was a fairly enjoyably unsettling read simply for the bleakness of the situation. Let's face it, even if one were to recognize the character in their transformed state, the idea of being transformed into an inflatable pool toy is probably too outlandish for them to consider. I'll at least give you credit for crafting a surprisingly unnerving concept with a rather grim conclusion.

Oh the poor fool.
One can only hope the magic effect will reverse once the helium is slightly out of him... But my grimdark senses wont stop tingling and it could become a tragedy... Nonetheless I have to ask if this unnamed pony is Big Macintosh? I ask because of the story picture... Poor chap he will most likely never look at foals the same way again... Makes you wonder if this was how Twilights parents felt as cacti albeit only for a shorter time due to witnesses...
