One night after finishing her homework, Twilight Sparkle walked in on her brother and his friends during their weekly gaming night. After seeing how much fun they were having, she convinced him to DM a game for her and her new friends, hoping to grow closer to them and learn more about friendship.

Six mares who've never met, will suddenly be thrown together as an ancient threat returns imperiling their entire world. Now these unlikely heroes must band together, or their entire world is doomed to eternal darkness.

This is a dark fantasy retelling of the series premiere, using Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 edition rules, spells, and monsters. It was an idea that I've been wanting to write for a good while, and I hope folks enjoy it.

When a dark enemy begins hunting the young wizard Twilight Sparkle, the walls of the fortress library of Candlekeep cannot protect her. Not even her mentor, the archmage Star Swirl the Bearded, can keep her safe. With a price on her head and the shadow of death on her heels, her only hope for salvation is the Magic of Friendship. Perhaps, with powerful allies at her side, she can find answers and uncover the truth about her destiny.

(This story is inspired by the Baldur's Gate CRPG series by Bioware, but you do not have to be familiar with BG to understand its events)

When she was in middle school, Sunset Shimmer suffered from what is called 'Middle-second syndrome'.
It is a term used to describe young teens who have grandiose delusions, and in some cases, have convinces themselves that they have secret powers.
She used to call herself 'The God Princess of Flames', an immortal being capable of manipulate fire, alienating herself from her classmates.
Finding her past embarrassing, Sunset will try everything to start her high school journey quietly after moving out from her city.
But not everything went as planned when she meets Twilight Sparkle, a girl in her class suffering from the very same syndrome, who calls herself 'The God Princess of Night'.
Sunset will do everything in her power to avoid being around that girl, but she will find it to be a difficult task since this girl literally lives next door.

Others take it further.

Division Seven is an international, multispecies effort, created in an attempt to find and discipline those charlatans. And ideally, to do so before something... happens.

The planet has strange ways of reacting to the presence of true Bearers.

After attempting to impress the judges during her entrance exam for Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, something transpires that alters Twilight's life irrevocably, as well as the destiny of all Equestria. In a very literal manner, Twilight metamorphoses into the embodiment of magic, much akin to how Discord embodies chaos. How will this unprecedented transformation shape forthcoming events? And how will Twilight grapple with mastering the newfound god-like abilities that have been unexpectedly thrust upon her?

When my parents told my sister and I that we would be moving to Canterlot, Virginia, I thought it would be a chance for a fresh start. Finding out that Canterlot was populated by cartoon characters put a dent in that plan, and being the only one who noticed for some reason didn't help. On the plus side, I made two new friends! Sure, they might be a little insane eccentric, but at least they haven't ghosted and/or knifed me yet.
