Rainbow Dash woke up first and found she was thirsty.
She decided to go downstairs and fetch herself some water, as she got to the sink and poured herself some water she noticed a book on the counter… and oddly enough, she was interested.
She approached the book and saw it was a guide to exotic animal care.
“Interesting, I have nothing more to do until the others wake up,” Rainbow Dash said before picking the book up and trotting over to a chair.
As she read she didn’t notice her mane becoming Twilight’s mane-cut and her cutie mark shifting.
“And in conclusion, one should never overfeed a Capybara… fascinating!” Rainbow said enthusiastically even as her fellow book friends came downstairs.
“Hmm? Hello everypony,” Rainbow said.
“Hello, I see you’ve located my book on exotic animal care,” Fluttershy said.
“Yes, it was quite fascinating,” Rainbow said.
“This is my dream come true,” Twilight said not noticing Spike in the background collecting books and going upstairs.
The next few hours were spent reading books and chatting about them.
Twilight then decided to gather some spell books and science materials and they went down to the basement to practice them with Rarity, they were performing an experiment that Twilight always wanted Rarity to help her with, but she was always too busy….
“Alright, vector three, to pilon four?” Twilight said.
“Nonono, vector four, to pilion three, we must make the correct balance between magic and science,” Rarity said.
“Good point, oh if Sunset could see us now,” Twilight said as she lowered the mini pylon onto the table carefully so as to not disrupt the experiment.
Nearby, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were having a pretty even keel chess match.
“Nice move with your bishop, too bad you left your knight wide open!” Fluttershy knocked over Rainbow’s knight with her pawn.
“Curses!” Rainbow said.
And Pinkie and Applejack were running an experiment of their own where they try multiple forms of compatible acid in the same beaker, to make a super acid!
“Alright, two-thirds acidic tree sap, cobbled with one-seventh toad poison, a bottle of water, ionized dragon sulfur, and leaping lizard venom, mixed with four third hydra venom,” Pinkie said.
“Ah hope this doesn’t blow up or create a toxic gas…” AJ said.
“No problem, stand back! I’m about to do science!” Pinkie said before pouring the rest into a pan with a titanium ingot in it… and it melted right through “Eureka!” Pinkie cheered.
“Ah can’t help but think you’d do this even if you weren’t brainwashed into being Twilight right now,” AJ said removing her goggles.
“Totally, in fact, I did it last week,” Pinkie said.
After that, they went to quills and sofas with Twilight and they gathered enough supplies to last.
They went back and began writing a long document on this adventure, each on their own.
“And in conclusion, we all feel a bit closer together like this, love Twilight and friends,” Twilight read out “Ok girls, sharing time,” Twilight and the others then passed their research around and found they had made fewer mistakes and had written in a similar font as the original.
“I like having sisters,” Twilight said before looking around for Spike “Spike! We need you to send these! Where are you?” Twilight called but when he didn’t appear she decided to just send it tomorrow when things are less hectic.
Afterwards, they gathered in Twilight’s bedroom as the final night came to a close.
“I had so much fun girls… it isn’t every day one gets a bunch of like-minded ponies to work with,” Twilight said happily.
“We’re glad to have been of service Twilight,” Rarity said and the rest hummed in agreement.
“Goodnight,” Twilight said before she went to sleep.
The next day
From Twilight’s view, she exited her bed.
“Whew, it’s finally over, now we can return to life as norm- ooof!” Twilight grunted as she hit the ground.
“Odd… why is everything bigger?” Twilight asked before looking to see everypony sleeping in their bags and not wanting to disturb them Twilight crept around them… somehow not noticing her bipedal gait.
She made her way into the bathroom and saw that the counter was higher than usual.
“This is so weird… did something happen?” Twilight flapped her wings to get higher….
And moments later when she saw her reflection a higher-pitched scream rang through the castle.
Spike woke up with a groan… it’s been a weird week, repeated blackouts, and extended naps, he’s beginning to wonder if he’s coming down with something.
As Spike made his way to the downstairs and he entered the kitchen he heard crunching noises.
“Hey guys… I’ve been sleeping weird lately, so can I- HUH?!” Spike exclaimed when he saw six other baby dragons sitting in chairs eating gemstone cereal.
“Hey dude!” Rainbow said.
“How’s it going?” Rarity said in a non-lady-like tone.
“Mmm, I love gemstones,” Pinkie said.
“Hey, the toy in the box is mine!” RD yelled as Applejack snatched it.
“Eenope!” AJ said with a giggle.
“Hey Spike… I suppose you were affected by the spell too… and I guess this is what happens when the spell affects another species…” Twilight said.
“...Uh… what spell?” Spike asked.
“Never mind, but that’s not all it did…” Twilight sighed.
“What?” Spike asked.
“....We kinda have-” Twilight leaned in and whispered in Spike’s ear.
“........WHAT THE-”
