Twilight Sparkle has been imprisoned for the murder of King Sombra in retaliation to the murder of her own brother. Locked away in solitary confinement with no visitation for nearly half a year, Twilight begins to believe that she's all alone, that is until Rainbow Dash sneaks into her cell on Hearts and Hooves Day.

Based on real life events. Inspired by "Painkiller" as made famous by Three Days Grace, "Say it ain't so" as made famous by Weezer and "Behind Blue Eyes" as made famous by The Who. Dedicated to someone very special to me.

Story One of the upcoming Painkiller Series

The Nightmare has returned, using Rarity as her new vessel. Twilight steps up boldly to save her, but is soon lost to the darkness. What evils lie in wait for these two now? What horrors await the innocent in their path? Can they take over Equestria?

Not likely, seeing as it's still Twilight and Rarity, and despite the new looks, it's the same old ponies. A new romance between the pair does little to aid their conquest. Heck, it would take complete incompetence on the guards part and easily scared ponies to see these two in any real position of... power...

We're all doomed!

In this alternate universe, the Changeling invasion never occurs. As Twilight Sparkle falsely accuses her innocent future sister-in-law of being evil, those dearest to her begin to doubt her. She is thrown into despair, unknowing her life is about to take a dramatic turn.

So when a spark of hope is instilled in her by Rarity's own despair from being trapped, the two must embark on a quest to reclaim the land that's been so harshly taken away from them. But can they win such a one-sided battle?

3 years into her rule, Nightmare Moon reigns happily, despite having encountered another alicorn. However, the fears comes quickly as an Assassin comes for her. WIll they succeed or will she fail like the others? And what will happen to Equestria after?

Just one mistake. Twilight had underestimated Nightmare Moon. When she reaches the map and tries to preform the spell again, a powerfull blast seperates her and Spike from the scroll, which lands somewhere in the bushes. Twilight and Spike get captured in seperate places. Now the Alicorn has to find a way to get out of the dungeons, let alone save Spike. Twilight knows, she needs more information on this world. And what role do Mademoiselle Rarity and Captain Rainbow Dash play? Can they help her? Can Twilight befriend these harsh two to get a way to freedom? And will Nightmare notice?

King Sombra came from an old age, a time where darkness and evil were prevalent across the land. The Princesse's power and influence were weaker in those days, for the land of Equestria was divided amongst many kingdoms of lesser Princesses and Princes. But out of all their ruling neighbors, The Four Shepherds held the most power of all, even threatening Celestia and Luna's kingdom. However, all of that changed when they vanished for a thousand years, ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity. Until that is, when the Crystal Kingdom reappeared, along with one of the Shepherds. King Sombra, however, was thankfully vanquished swiftly, but the following peace of his defeat would not last as long as anypony might think. A new force sets its eyes on the recently coronated Princess Twilight Sparkle, one that seeks to restore a lost heritage and remind the land of who is the true owner of the night. For when one evil is smitten, another appears in its place. And King Sombra was only the first in line.

Can Twilight's vision for a modern renaissance outrun the harsh realities of the shadowy figures pulling strings behind the scenes, nobles jockeying for her attention, and an irritatingly metaphorical love triangle?

Discord is extremely, irrevocably bored! He decides the best way to cure boredom today is to visit his favorite princess. He just wasn't expecting to find an alicorn filly in the library. Now hijinx and adventure awaits as he tries to milk the situation and her friends try to reverse the process.
