Equestria's Princess of the Night had returned at last. Freed from her nightmare, she could hardly wait to gaze at her dearest sister Sola's face again. To bury her head in her magnificent pink mane and plead for forgiveness and have a sister again.

But wait.

Who was this 'Princess Celestia' that her noble saviours seemed to be in awe of? Who was this mare with a mane the color of a sunrise? 

She was Sola.

Celestia, the Princess of the Heavens. Sola had declared herself the Princess of the Heavens. Sola had broken their sacred covenant. Sola had saved Equestria after Luna had left it to rot. And she was beloved for it, ever so beloved. And just who was Luna in this world that was all her sister's, this world where she seemed to have been replaced already?

Inspired by Skywriter's 'Indiscretions' which features the headcanon of Celestia adopting the name 'Celestia' only after Luna's banishment, her real name being 'Sola' after the Roman sun god to match Luna's name.

Forty Alicorn years. Long spans of time that were dictated simply by generational gaps. That's how long Twilight had been in the past. Finally, through all the wars, chaos, and a crazy spirit (Surprisingly enough, not Discord), Twilight Sparkle has returned to the present. Now, the tired Queen simply wishes to rest and enjoy her retirement. Unfortunately for her, the story doesn't simply stop because the hero is tired as a new villain now shows her hoof. Twilight now has to balance teaching not one but two students and still keep her secret safe from her friends! All while dealing with a healthy dose of PTSD on top of it.

The final chapter of the My Faithful Student trilogy.

On a dark and stormy night, an alicorn colt is found. The very first of his kind.

Not knowing what else to do, the village that found him sends for the princesses, who hurries to investigate. The strange colt declares his name is Zeus, and he is a king! But other than that, he really has no idea. He does not know where he came from, what he is king of, or how exactly he ended up in Equestria.

Sensing the immense power hiding within the colt, Celestia and Luna decides to take him in. If nothing else, they can keep an eye on him. But it isn't easy to raise a colt with immense power.

Hopefully Zeus is the only strange entity that has arrived in Equestria...

This story takes place a few years after the series. But in this story, Celestia and Luna did not retire, they are still ruling Equestria.

This is also NOT connected to the God of War series.

As much as she'd hate the comparison, Tempest Shadow has a lot in common with an Ursa Major: Incredibly powerful, incredibly dangerous, and incredibly easy-going if left to their own devices. After establishing herself in the Crystal Empire as a ranger, she was happy to spend her days on routine patrols and settling minor kerfuffles along the imperial frontier.

For 1,200 years, on the first full moon after the harvest, Celestia has made the journey to the stone circle in the woods, raised in the memory of the Old Gods. Tonight will be no exception.

Inspired by some recent discussions on Reddit about which IRL religions the various ponies would follow. It struck me that Celestia, as old as she is, was probably a hardcore OG pagan in her youth--and likely still was, even if she had to keep that fact secret.

Stable 17. The only of its kind, not for what it was built to do but for whom it was built for.

This unique stable housed the only remaining population of ponies who resided in the lush forests of Transylvania:

Thestrals – more commonly known as 'bat ponies' by the other races of Equestria – were a nocturnal race of ponies who sported fangs, leathery wings, and yellow cat-like eyes. Historically these ponies were shunned by their daytime-loving neighbors and forced to keep to themselves. This all changed under the reign of Princess Luna and a brief chance was given for them to preserve their future. They were given one Stable to protect themselves from the inevitable.

Transylvania was blissfully spared by the balefire that consumed Equestria. Though no bomb fell in the region, the destructive magical radiation from the bombings still seeped across the mountains and tainted the forests, leaving few alive and bathing the once teaming forests with a haunting silence. Those who survived holed themselves within their protective ring of mountains, never daring to explore the wastes that lay beyond.

My name is Midnight Wind. I grew up within the confines of Stable 17 where I was certain I would live peacefully and die peacefully, all alone as an outcast among my people. See, I was born among my thestral kind but for some reason or another, I popped out of the womb as half a pegasus. Maybe it was genetics, maybe it was destiny, all it did was make my life miserable.

Things got worse when the Overmare learned that I was elected to take her position. I was forced to leave the stable, finding myself stuck in Transylvania. I had no supplies, no friends, and no knowledge of the new world around me. With a grievous wound received upon my escape, my life was sure to end quickly.

Well, my life would have ended if it wasn't for another pony who was exiled with me; none other than the Overmare's own sister, Scarlet Rose. A mare who seemed to blame all of her woes on me.

Things would only continue to spiral for me as I became plagued with visions and dreams of another era. Stories of alicorns, wars, and the fate of thestrals on the brink of disaster.

Night by night, secrets tucked away within the forested overgrowth of Transylvania reveal themselves. Scarlet and I not only had to overcome our own differences, but together we would soon be tasked to protect the sovereignty of Transylvania. Maybe even the very existence of our dying thestral race.
