One thousand years ago Princess Celestia was forced to banish Nightmare Moon to the moon to save all of Equestria, but what if Luna had been hiding something from her sister, scared of how she would react? When Luna had no other choice, she cried out for Celestia and Celestia came. For one thousand years, Luna wondered what happened when Celestia left; now she's finding out...

But is it already too late, or will Luna be able to take the role she had so long dreamed of? The dream of being a mother?

After his actions in New York, Odin hands down his sentence for Loki's crimes. Instead of execution or being locked in the Asgardian dungeon for the rest of his natural life, Loki will instead be sent to live with his granddaughters, to learn the virtues he is so desperately lacking.

Loki didn't know he had granddaughters. He had even forgotten he had a son in the first place.

And to make things even more complicated, said granddaughters are magical pony princesses in a magical land of talking, technicolor ponies called Equestria.

Yeah. Things are gonna get interesting.

Niamh, an introverted student of veterinary science, finds herself transported to a strange world inhabited by ponies. Of course, that means becoming one herself. Now she must prove to the other ponies that she is not the 'Nightmare Moon' they think she is, and earn their trust, while they must earn hers. Especially this 'Princess Luna' character.

But two questions stand out above the rest as being truly important: How did she get there, and why?

Equestria is threatened by a deadly alliance of Gryphons, Minotaurs, Horses and Changelings, an alliance that was supposedly created to maintain peace in Equestria. But Celestia is no fool. She knows that a war is coming, a war that cannot be stopped, and without allies and guards with no combat experience, Equestria won't stand a chance.

In the several corners of the world, humans are either enslaved to be gladiators, servants or guards. Those who remain free, struggle to survive. And with the other races of the world approaching more and more in human territory, their future seems grim and their numbers grow fewer.

Tartarus: the fabled prison said to hold all of the demons of Equus at bay.

Few truly know what lies behind the impenetrable doors Cerberus guards. Some say that it is a pit, infinite in it's depth and darkness, from which there is no return. Other claim it to be a hellish plain, filled with fire and pain and suffering, to punish the demons for their sins.

All of them are wrong.

Tartarus is small. An inescapable cell for a single prisoner. But the tales about it's purpose are not false.

For this captive human holds the key to unleashing upon Equestria forces which have not been seen for centuries, forces which predate Equestria by many an age.

And soon, he shall be free.

Twilight Sparkle, protege of Princess Celestia, struggles against the tyranny of this ancient foe. But how will she be able to save herself and her friends when the truth of this ancient legend crashes down upon her? Twilight will have to confront herself...and her heritage.

She certainly didn't ask to be dropped in Equestria, and she certainly didn't ask to be the spitting image of Princess Celestia, and she most certainly didn't ask if the ponies she found herself confronting would mind if she became inexplicably, undeniably, and most definitely evil... but now that she is, she might as well enjoy herself right?
